We often get threads posted on local boards looking for reviews or ideas on vendors in a certain area. Thanks! Info from past weddings is most helpful to us still planning. (PS I was a wedding server for Fratello’s when I was in colleg!)

We are keeping the wedding pretty small and as affordable as possible and are using a lot of "friendors." The ceremony and reception will be outdoors and more on the informal side. Our wedding is on 9/12 and we are expecting 60 guests. Our budget is about $10,000. My vendors are from all over – my family lives in OH, my fiance’s family lives in New Husband, I currently live in Minneapolis, and my fiance lives in Boulder, CO.
- Venue – Dexter’s Inn in Sunapee, New Husband
- Caterer – COuntry Kitchen
- Rentals – Peter Smith & Associates contracts with Dexter’s Inn
- Coordinator – n/a
- Photographer – friends
- DJ – ipod
- Florist – Petal Patch
- Cake – Stone Arch Bakery
- Officiant – friend (although our wedding license was done at the courthouse in Boulder, CO, where we will be living)
- Dress – Cincinnati Bridal for wedding gown; Klassic Line Vintage for reception dress for dancing (can’t really swing dance in a swedding gown)
- Shoes – zappos.com for ivory shoes for gown, and shoes.com for silver dance shoes
- Bridesmaid or Best Man Dress – both ladies are picking their own from several colors
- Hair Stylist – still working on this one
- Make-up Artist – may do my own??
- Invitations – sister DIY’d them (she is a graphic designer)
- Rings – Scherezade Jewelers in Minneapolis, MN
- Videographer – brother

- Venue – Portsmouth Country Club (pay no attention to their website photos, I hate them, but checked out the venue anyway and was pleasantly surprised by the recent renovations. The banquet room is now neutral with neutral curtains, etc. (all the green and icky country club decor is gone) and they have new ceremony chairs for the outside ceremony which are wayyyy nicer than the ones they have in their photos)
- Caterer – in house
- Coordinator – in house
- Photographer – Alexandra Daley-Clark
- DJ – Pete Chambers
- Florist- Creative Gardens New Husband (Julie is very nice and very affordable. She was very patient with me since I really had no vision of what i wanted. I only knew that I wanted the centerpieces to be low/short so no one had to look over or around them and that I wanted them to be simple and have orange in them. Pathetic huh? I also already had to make some changes after parting ways with my sister who is no longer in the wedding and she told me I had up until a few weeks to make changes/additions, etc. I found her very accomodating and helpful)
- Cake – Wild Orchid Baking Company (Erin was SO sweet, had great ideas, was easy to talk to – like you’ve known her for years – and the cakes were yummy….and I don’t even like cake!)
- Officiant – have a meeting with Jeffrey DeMarco this weekend. Hope it goes well.
- Dress – undetermined. But truth be told, since all the designer dresses I have tired on have “Made in China” tags in them, I am contemplating having my dress made by one of the known dressmakers in China. If so many of the big money dresses were not made there, I may feel differently, but what’s the difference if I buy it from China, or they do? I may also look into finding a local seamstress/dressmaker if I can’t find exactly what I want.
- Shoes – undetermined but probably Nordstrom..though I have dreams of those “something blue” Manolo’s…
- Bridesmaid or Best Man Dress – Nordstrom
- Hair Stylist -???
- Make-up Artist – ???
- Invitations – ???
- Rings – E ring NY jeweler and bands from Barmakian
- Other
I actually live in RI and have been driving back and forth quite a bit. If anyone has a good suggestion for Hair/Makeup it would be greatly appreciated. I’m at a major loss!!
