I hate walmart for sooooooo many reasons.  I only go their for a UTI otc medicine that only they carry here in town.  The last time I went to buy it Darling Husband grabbed some ice cream, when we got home it had been opened (shocker).  I took it back, even had the receipt, and they threw a big fit about putting my id number in the computer for it.  Um, that is illegal here in the state of Nebraska.  I even pulled up the legislative language on it on my phone to show them that.  (I am huge into keeping my id numbers private).  All over a $3 thing of ice cream.  Asshats.

Wal Mart horror stories… hmmm…

Well I rarely shop at Wal Mart anymore, but when I do, something ALWAYS gets left behind. They have those obnoxious rotating bag things, and the person ringing me up always just keeps filling and rotating while I’m trying to arrange my bags in a way that everything isn’t getting crushed in the cart. Then they are like “Thanks have a good day” and start ringing up the next person. I always say “Can you please wait a second so I can check to make sure I got all my stuff?” and lo and behold there is always a bag or two left behind. Once it was $15 worth of burger, another time is was a DVD! I’ve had to go back several times to recover a lost bag because they won’t just slow down for a minute and make sure you got it all.

I probably walk into one once per year when im desperately searching for something and wind up walking out. I hate that place.

The last time I was there was around Halloween 2010. I was trying to find something for a craft project. As I searched a wall of tiny items, the couple in the next row, who had two children with them, started arguing. It wasn’t just bickering, it was full out fighting. All I could think about were those two little kids.

Then the woman yelled “you never see him and you ain’t gonna buy a toy for YOUR SON!” I just walked out. I have never been in such a situation and didn’t know what to do.

I mostly hate when people clog up the main aisles so they can stand there and have a conversation. Get outta the way people! Also, the Walmart where I live smells really bad for some reason and it’s a new store. I’m not sure if it’s the actual store that smells though or just the people who shop there. Undecided

Durring the HUGE similac recall I went there to return my formula. I had 2 of the Huge containers of recalled formula. I went and brought my formula to the customer service desk and the lady looks at me like I did something wrong by wanting to return my recalled formula. First they try to tell me they have to extange the formula and I was like ok… So they bring me the wrong kind of formula. I tell them my daughter can not drink that she HAS to have this one kind of formula. I get death stare. They look and they have NONE of my daughters type of formula in the store (all of their stock of her formula was recalled)

So I they bring out their paper of what to do and the lady starts going off making comments about how why does it matter I get my formula for free anyways. She assumed I was on WIC (Nothing against anyone on WIC but I was not) I told her I was not on WIC and if she didnt belive me then look I brought the big cans and with WIC you only get the little cans. Another death stare. So she tells me that she has to give me a gift card for cost of the formula.

I ask her what am I going to do with a gift card to a store that has no stock of my childs formula. Death stare once again. I asked if I can look at the paper she kinda throws it in my direction. It says on the paper if the customer has the large cans of formula they can get cash for the formula. I pointed this out to the lady who told me sorry she couldnt do that and I got stuck with gift cards…

OR

I fell at walmart while holding my newborn child because of something on the ground and no wet floor sign the worker asked if I was ok I told her I hurt my knee she ignored me and told her friend that I better not think she was going to file a insident report becasue I fell… I complained to the manager and she doesnt work there anymore…

@mink: Oh yeah, Wal Mart fighters, those are always neat. When I was 8 months pregnant I was in there with my husband shopping for baby clothes and a group of 4 or 5 people all started screaming and yelling at each other right in front of me. Well of course I started staring in spite of myself because hello, why are you all screaming at each other in public? And the guy and the girl (I think they were a couple) turn to me and yell “WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU LOOKING AT BITCH!”

I started to walk over to them (not really sure what I was planning to do) and my husband steered me away saying “Go. Go. Go. Walk. Go.” LOL

@kate169: Yes I know! We were tight on cash that month and formula is not cheap so I was pissed that we had to spend more money at another store for the formula. and I was stuck with a walmart gift card…

I hate Walmart.

Darling Husband & I ordered a computer game for in-store pickup (in-store pickup was $10 cheaper than the shelf price). We drive there, it’s not at the front desk yet, the lady working said it would be there within 1 HOUR! We ask if we can go back to the electronic section and grab it ourselves and bring it to them. The answer? “No, it has to be brought up by one of the Walmart representatives.”

I ordered a bunch of pictures right before Thanksgiving to be printed in-store. I was going back home to visit family, so I ordered the prints from the closest store to them. First, I get a “order delayed” notice, so I call in. They said their photo printing machine is down, but it should be working again by the afternoon. I get a confirmation email later in the day saying my order is ready. When I get to the store the next day, no photos, their machine is still broken. If I would have known that, I could have transferred my order to any number of Walmarts along the way (I was driving nearly the entire length of Kansas), but since I THOUGHT my photos were done, I showed up to Thanksgiving empty handed after I promised my grandma I’d give her wedding photos that day. Oh, and since the order was over $25, I had to prepay at the time of order, and it took me 45 minutes at the store to get a refund! They couldn’t understand that I couldn’t just pick it up next week when I live 5 hours away! And I got sent back and forth between customer service and the photo desk several times. I was ticked!

Lately it’s been a bad experience nearly every time I go in there! I rarely go anymore, and when I do, I remember why I usually go to Target instead even though it’s less convienent to get to.

@KatyElle: Oh my gosh, I think you take the cake with that “What are you looking at” story. I don’t know what I would do!

@mink: Looking back on it, it was just so ridiculous I have to laugh. I do tend to stare at people when they are making a scene it’s like watching a movie haha!
