What made you choose yours? Did it tast nice? Did it look like how you wanted? How much did it cost? What flavours did it have?
My fiance and I chose that design as it we thought it was classic and simple but with another detail to make it special. I found it on this website but changed the colours to make it more vibrant. Also we didn’t want it to be more expensive.

The icing was made out of white chocolate and the top layer was chocolate with the bottom layer being victoria sponge. It cost £190. It turned out better than i expected. I loved the cake stand too which costs £15.

The only thing I regret is the bottom layer being double height as you can see it is struggling. It was very difficult to cut and collapsed lol!

We chose our cake based soley on taste, since we had a fancy cake topper the design on the cake took a backseat. In fact we had an oversized cake (almost double the servings we needed) and my bridal party and I ended up finishing all the left overs within 3 days lol.

housebee: The cake toppers are so cute!! I didn’t bother with a topper due to keep costs down. So adorable though.
The baker was making it out like we had to cut tiny slices to feed 40 people but actually we had way more cake than we needed so I could have cut bigger slices. My fiance didn’t get to try the cake though because we went off to our honeymoon that evening and by the time we got back it was a week old. My friend/bridesmaid had three slices lol.

We’re not married yet but this will be our cake, but with all white chocolate and cerise roses instead 🙂

It’s ginger cake with praline filling 🙂 and scrummy!

This is what our cake will look like. One of my bridesmaids owns her own bakery and offered to do our cake and cupcakes. We won’t be having the small, top tier, but the second tiers we will be having. As for flavors: We are still undecided. She’s going to make us a sampling of a few different things next year so we can decide.

BridalBeckyBee: My topper was DIY, so it only cost me $15 which was much less than fresh flowers, fondant, etc. Plus I was able to use the leftover polymer clay to make boutonniere alternatives for the guys. It was definitely the most cost effective route for us.

This is the only picture I have on this computer. I did have a close up of the damask design that my baker matched to the linens.

LeopardPrintBee: Who knew that a skull could look so cool in a wedding cake? I’m not into skulls, but I think that cake is awesome!

Our cake was delicious and I thought our cake came out cute in deisgn but was not exactly what we wanted. Some of the colors were a bit too muted and the flowers were not the colors we asked for. I kind of wish we just put fresh flowers on our cake to go better with our theme of wildflowers.

islandx0sunset: I must admit, pretty cakes are awesome to look at, but yours just look sooo yummy! It’s one of the few cakes I’ve seen that I really want to taste. Don’t get me wrong, it looks very pretty, but so damn tasty at the same time.

We are going to get one like this only with red flowers, and tailored to show all the places we have lived in together:

Edit: I think it will end up costing about $300 for 40-50 people.
