We chose are cake more out of desperation. The baker backed out 3 weeks before the wedding so we had to use a local supermarket with such short notice. The blue was the wrong color, but they made the grooms cake better than I could have imagined.

<br /><br />Cheesecake for the top layer (Husband isn’t a cake fan), the cake was lemon with cheesecake/cream cheese filling. Our cake topper was made by a friend of mine who modeled them after my husband and I.<br /><br />It was delicious and perfect. Fed about 50 people, we had a few less than that so my father in law took the rest home and devoured it by himself (Husband and I only got one piece!)<br /><br />I believe it was around 200 including the stand rental.

It isn’t letting me edit my post, but it was a vegan chocolate and vanilla cake from whole foods. The florist provided the flowers and I got the topper off of eBay. It was 130 servings and a little over $300. It was soooo good, whole foods is the only bakery I have found that has delicious, moist vegan baked goods every single time!

My cake was a 3-tier cake. It only cost $200, plus $40 for the small 8in round that was grooms cake (but it matched the bigger cake). I think it wasn’t overly expensive because the design was simple for it being a wedding cake. But it was right in the budget I wanted to pay for a cake. I refused to pay $500 just for a cake.
