Mine’s not terribly inspiring, but I made it myself.

This is our inspiration cake. I’m making the top 4 tiers with our own fimo clay topper.

I borrowed the idea for mine from the lovely Mrs Earrings who had a vintage teacup on top of her cake. The cake was made by Mother-In-Law and iced by my husband’s aunt.

I’m making my cake. It’ll be three layers but only the bottom layer will be cake. I have a small wedding planned. The top two tiers I’ll be making with rice cereal mixed with marshmallow and frosting like it’s more cake. I found a super easy and pretty design a bee posted on this site a while ago. Heres my pretty inspiration:

I’ll be frosting it the day of the wedding and It’ll take no time at all because it’s an easy design. The cake will be made a week early and frozen. I’ll make the rice krisies treat layers the day before and i’ll give them a thin base coat of frosting and pop them in the fridge. The day of I’ll crumb coat my thawed bottom layer, add some cut drinking straws to support the top two layers, pipe the rosettes on the whole thing and I’m good to go.

I am probably the luckiest girl in NYC for having two incredibly talented, relatively “famous” baker friends to do my cake/cupcakes! Yes, we’re doing both – I couldn’t pass it up!

Yup, that’s a wedding cake – and it actually tastes INCREDIBLE. I’m not sure what flavors i’m going for (I don’t really care, honestly, they’re all amazing) but i’m smitten with the chocolate chip/passion fruit and the “birthday” cake..

In addtion to that, we’re having these incredible cupcakes, too!

@kariface:  whoa, that is wild. I have seen “naked” cakes but this one…no, i’m not gonna say “takes the cake”! lol. doesn’t the cake start drying out, like getting stale after a period of time?

@Pokemon:  That’ll be a show-stopper. Lol, I didn’t notice your “name” until after I hit reply. A pokemon has such classy taste? I had no idea 🙂
