Lots of great ideas, ladies! 🙂
Lots of great ideas, ladies! 🙂
I like the idea of giving him a watch but he’s not really a watch guy. frankly he’d be happy with a gift certificate to home depot! lol but hes OBSESSED with trains (i’ve learned to deal with it – he leaves me alone with my obsession with shoes so we compromisel :)). so i am giving him he gift of being an engineer for one day on a train here. he’ll get to drive the real steam train, stop at stations, announce the stations, blow the whistle etc all day long. at the end of the day he gets to pull the train into the station and park it. i have to make sure the photographer captures his expression when he opens that envelope! lol. i plan on giving it in a hat box (train engineer hat) with the gift certificate
I got Fiance a set of cufflinks too. He’s very traditional and loves them, but he’s also a railroader. These are railroad spike cufflinks. When they make spikes, they mark them with the date of manufacture…so the spikes that the set I got were made in 1926.
I’ll be giving them to him at our ‘first look’ before the wedding so I can see his reaction 🙂
I gave my husband a white gold band with the coordinates of where we met:
My husband gave me a Dreamlines sketch of my dress and his suit. Just perfect! <3
Love it. I have an Oris skeleton watch with a leather strap and I get compliments all the time on it. I have no idea what to get my Fiance. Following this thread for some ideas 🙂
My groom and I paid for the wedding and rings, and didn’t want to spend more on gifts for each other, but we both love surprises, so we still exchanged something, just with the caveat that time and thought was put into it rather than money.
My gift to him was similar to yours. We travel a lot, and both love sending postcards. For years I have secretly written him a postcard of each place we travelled to and then socked it away for a special day… So my nephew delivered a cute box covered in vintage maps to him on our wedding morning containing a couple dozen postcards from over the years. my groom almost cried, he couldn’t believe I pulled off that secret for so long.
Earlier in the morning my nephew had delivered me an envelope containing a note and set of keys with a cute keychain attached. The note explained that the old truck my groom and his father had worked to restore over the previous decade was no longer “his” truck, but was now “our” truck. It was a pretty big gesture; a lot of heart and soul has been poured into that truck, and it was the one thing in our relationship that was not joint custody so to speak.
Love all of the thought, creativeness, and sentiment of this thread! Great job ladies.
I got DH a coffee grinder that I found while antiquing. He has a slight obsession buying green coffee beans and roasting them himself to make his own blend. He is also into all things classy and vintage. I thought the coffee grinder would be a nice blend of all of that! To make it personal, I had our wedding date emblazoned on the front and our initials to the back.
The first picture is the box it came in. The second is the pocketwatch I got him. On one side it has an E for his last name. On the other side it says, “I love you every second of every day.”
