These were some of the songs I used. I’d order it 3-5 fast songs to 1-2 slow song, that way people who dont have dates to slow dance with aren’t left out, yet you still get the nice slow songs to cool off from being hot dancing so much, and you still get romance.

Hi Alexis? This post really interests me because I am doing a DIY Ipod playlist for my wedding too. Can you repost it more clearly?  No one can make out your list and I am sure you would like us to.  Thanks so much.  Maybe copy and paste it right on the text?  Thanks!

Sorry the list was small before, I deleted that playlist and that was my only picture. But since you asked I typed it all out!

The songs worked pretty well. I had my brother man the “DJ” station which was a stereo hooked up to my laptop. And that was nice so he could change the song depending on how the crowd was going. My only regret is that I didnt have more slow songs play. Which was just because my brother didnt choose to play those enough and I didnt even realize it in the moment with all the dancing and fun. I had a younger crowd though, 18-21 year olds as far as friends go, I’m a very young newlywed. So it makes sense that there would be tons of fast songs, nobody really had dates that were on the dance floor.
I didn’t find many wedding playlists I liked so this is all made by me and my musical preferences. The Fast songs (LMFAO, Katy perry, etc) Pretty much just play songs like that / radio songs for the fast stuff. The slow songs are the fun part and thats were I personalized my real musical interest so you may not know some of those songs if it’s not your style (Landon Pigg, City and Colour).
People seemed to really like the music in my opinion. Lots of dancing 🙂

Overall my main suggestions for DIY music is:
– Have backups, have that playlist on a couple ipods, and a laptop. Be prepared for mistakes.
-Test the equipment, make sure it gets loud enough for the area you will be playing the music.
-Ask a few friends and family what songs they want to hear and throw it into the list if you like them!
-You dont necessarily need a moderator working the equipment, I’d set up the playlist in the order you want, and if it changes in the moment at the wedding, go over and swap a few songs around, it wont take too much time. A moderator helps though if you have them, then you can go up and say “play this song next” or “We need more fast songs!”
-Theres an Itunes function that will fade the end of one song into the beginning of the next. It makes it sound more professional!
