So, although today has been a pretty good day, I’ve realized that planning a wedding is FAR more stressful than I ever imagined. I think many of us could agree. On that note, I thought it might be helpful to share some of the things that help us decompress. It seems that most of the time I go the hot bath/glass of wine route, but I know there are many other great things that I’m likely missing out on. Share away! (And, thanks in advance) 🙂

My Zen things are . . . in no particular order . . . red wine, classical music, yoga, candles, red wine, making love, flowers, being in my backyard lying on the swing in a pile of cushions lazily watching butterflies flit around and hearing birds chirping, red wine. Oh, and did I mention red wine?

Running, yoga, taking a deep breath & counting to 10, petting my dog, taking a walk by the river, taking a nap, enjoying a glass of wine, chocolate, sitting by the ocean 🙂

I definitely credit Bikram Yoga to helping me find my zen! Works wonders!

yea i have been wondering this too. nothing helps my stress. i have been doing zumba, boot camp (another workout class), gardening… nothing helps. i find myself thinking about how to pay for this, when to order that, while i’m dancing and shaking my butt at zumba. i will try the wine next, but i’m scared it’ll have to be a bottle.

Wine, spending time with my pets, exercising, relaxing after cleaning my house, watching movies in my jammies, cooking, my DIY spa nights with facial masks, foot masks and parafin hand treatment, naps and long walks on the beach and tanning. Yup, I know tanning is bad for you, but that’s my “me” time.

DRINKING! Ha, just kidding (kind of). I actually read about an amazing stress relieving technique in a magazine, and I have been following it and it’s been working.
Although it may sound contrary to your goal, you should actually allot, say, 5 minutes a day to let yourself feel stressed out and think stressful thoughts. Any other time during the day, you simply tell yourself that you won’t let it bother you at this time, b/c you have a designated time later to dwell on stressful issues.

this might sound totally weird, but when I can’t go to sleep I use an app called Sleep Easily by a woman named shazzie. It walks you through a restful meditation to help you fall asleep and relax your entire body.
also, wine. 🙂
