A few months before my wedding, I dreamed that something went wrong with hair appointments so the girls were scrambling to help me do something with my hair on the big day.  Luckily, this didn’t seem to bother me much.  But I was also not sure that my photographer was going to show up, so that was my focus during the whole dream.

I booked my photographer really early in the process because I love his work, and we did our engagement session about 16 months before our wedding because my Fiance and I were due to move across the country.  Then after that I didn’t have any contact with the photographer for quite a while.  After the dream, I ended up sending him an email to confirm we were all set.  Poor guy probably thought I was looney.

Almost immediately after getting engaged (over a year ago) I have had the same recurring nightmare.

Its always slightly different but along the same thread.

They always take place on my wedding day (morning of, about to walk down the aisle, setting up the venue). I’m always involved in whatever is happening at that time and then all of a sudden realize I have completely forgotten to book/confirm/arrange something important.

  • One was the morning of and I was getting ready with everyone until I realized I hadn’t confirmed any timing or anything with the hair and makeup artists.
  • Another was while I was setting up the venue with my family when I realized I had no idea if/when the flowers were coming
  • The most recent was when I was literally standing at the top of the aisle in a complete panic because i didn’t know where my bouquet was and the bridesmaids were already at the altar sans their bouquets.

Its like my subconscious has taken the status of things in real life at that time and then applied them to the day of the wedding. So, I’m always thinking about the real vendor but panicking because I haven’t been in further contact with them then the initial booking/deposit.

@pengoala:  When I first got engaged I always had similar dreams that the stone had fallen out of my e-ring. Those were the worst!

Haaaaaaaa! These are all so funny…the fart one, though. OMG. I died laughing.

I had a dream the other night that nobody showed up, which is pretty silly

Another one, though, I had a few months ago. It was so bad. Day of, I realized I didn’t have a dress. So we went to a bridal boutique inside of a Walmart-esque store, and I tried on a million dresses. I was FREAKING out that I had to walk down the aisle in the ratty jeans I was wearing…and I woke up crying!!! Hahahahaha! Obviously, that turned into a laughcry, but good GOD.

Just the other night I had the most awful dream about the wedding. I dreamt that it was a January day for some reason and that the wedding was that very day.

I only seemed to realize it was my wedding 15 minutes after the ceremony was supposed to start! I still had barely anything purchased and my dress was currently unavailable to wear. The invitation hadn’t even been sent out yet as they were sitting on the dinner table so no one was even invited. There was no vehicle available for the 20 minute drive to where the officiant was waiting. I don’t know if I actually got married in my dream because I woke up in a sweat…

I had to run and check the calendar and remind myself my wedding is still several months away!

@ladyamalthea:  I always, always, always have dreams I don’t wake up on time for something I need to be up for; I had them every year when I was in school, they happen now with my job, I can’t during the day if I have something going on that night. I am religious about getting up with an alarm too but I still freak out that I will oversleep.

I keep telling people that I won’t be able to sleep the night before the wedding and THIS is why….even though the ceremony isn’t until 6pm. Sigh….

Mine just started two nights ago. After yesterday’s one I thought, surely I won’t have another one and sure enough last night I had one. I had apparently gone to the bathroom after the ceremony at church and everyone left without me, thinking I was in one of the vehicles. The church just so happened to be in a remote location and I ended up walking with a young boy who knew the way to my house (because I apparently didn’t). Anyway, the walk was meant to be half an hour but after a couple of hours I realised that we were lost and I was missing my own reception:-(.

As my wedding day approaches (59 days!!!) I’ve been having terrible wedding nightmares… and often!

My most recent one: None of my bridesmaids, nor my hair/make-up artist showed up, so I was just sitting upstairs, in my dress and shoes/veil, with no make up and my hair all gross. My aunt walked upstairs and said everyone was leaving because I was taking too long to walk down the aisle, so I went downstairs and walked down the aisle ugly! 🙁 The one a few days before that included us forgetting my ring and not realizing it until we were exchanging vows in front of everyone, me dropping his ring while trying to put it on his finger (we’re getting married on a balcony), and me forgetting at any point in the planning process to get my dress altered, so I had to hold it up by the boob-age area for the. entire. night.

I hate wedding nightmares! I’m so sorry you’re ailing from them, too! (Even though, I must admit that it makes me feel a little bit more… normal!)

I had a nightmare (my 1st one-last night!)! Fiance and I were together the morning of the wedding. I have no idea why. But we were late. We showed up to the ceremony site, and the sign said Congrats Mr. & Mrs. ‘Lab’… um thats not my FI’s last name wth?! But apparently it was in my dream. I had 45 minutes to get ready at the ceremony site, while my photographer, makeup artist, Maid/Matron of Honor and mom were at the hotel getting ready! I woke up in a panic and could not fall back asleep.

Fiance thinks I’m even crazier now….
