I just wanted to share my flowers cost info for those of you who are also looking into an all baby’s breath flower/decor theme.
I went to meet with the first florist yesterday. She was very sweet and she has a really good reputation around town. Her store looked very professional. She is letting me borrow her vases and 2 flower stands. She also gave me the option of buying the hanging crystals myself for her to put into the arrangements. The total estimate she gave me is $1,794.87
Here is the breakdown:
Bride’s Bouquet – $165 (w/ white stephanotis w/crystals & crystal wrappes handle)
Bridesmaid or Best Man Bouquets – $39.95 x 5 = 199.75
Corsages – $16 x 2 = $32 (w/vandela rose)
Groom’s Bout – $10.95
Altar Arrangement – $125.00
Isle deco – $ 79.98
Centerpiece Decorations – $49.95 x 19 tables = 949.05
Delivery & set up = $100
tax – $128.84
I don’t know about you ladies, but this seemed a bit high to me. So I made another appointment with a florist next week. I will also share that info 🙂

Potentially high but I assume BB arrangements have the same labor cost as other flowers. DIY’ing BB is so cheap 1) because the flowers are cheap and 2) because you cut out the crazy labor costs. That’s probably how you can save a chunk of change.

This seems a little high to me….I would check out more then 2 florists…but even if it is the hightest $$ you also might want to go by who understands your vision the most, who you were most comfortable with
I checked out several before I finally decided to go with the florist that my venue provided, it still was a little pricey but I did not want to run the risk of having a florist who didn’t know my venue, also after meeting with my final pic he was the best I could have asked for…he made my appointment the highlight of my wedding planning….

I forgot to add that the Baby’s Breath I was quoted is the Million Stars hybrid. It has the bigger flower buds which cost a little more. Also location makes a big difference and I am in Socal.
I just want to make it clear that I am not complaining at all, this is more of an info-share for other brides who are using BB for their flowers.
@ heather25 – I do agree that DIY-ing the BB’s will be more cost effective. I wish I had the time and help to do that but I don’t. All my guests are flying in, including my BMs and family members (kinda like a destionation wedding) so I am at the mercy of my local florists.
@mija22 – I’m going to see a few more florists for sure just so i can compare prices but I think peace of mind is also priceless on one’s wedding day 🙂

Ok! so i went and met with the 2nd florist. The estimate if not much cheaper. It’s only less than $150.00 and she didn’t even have the vases i wanted. nor was she willing to purchase and rent the vases back to me.
I’m located in Socal so the labor cost must be high here, is the only explanation.
I hope this helped others 🙂

I would try DIY… go to Sams club or try an online flower wholesale company…but you have to have helpers, and be willing to use a little elbow grease
