My hands get so swollen they burn/itch. It usually only lasts a few days but with my ering on it’s very uncomfortable. I wonder if it will worsen once it becomes summer time. This swelling has me considering sizing up 1/4 a size… Does anyone else experience crazy hand swelling during that time of the month?

No, but I retain water really badly in the week leading up to my period – its the progesterone. Might be why your hands swell? The other thing is that your oestrogen levels are a bit lower at this point (it goes up as you approach ovulation) and oestrogen help to reduce inflammation, so that may also contribute to the itching?

You’re most likely right. It’s never any other time, except maybe the morning after smashing a tub of popcorn at the movies, lol.
I never noticed it before getting engaged because I never had a ring on my finger. The ring feeling tight is the first sign that my hands are swelling and then after that I notice the other stuff. I’m probably going to wait through the summer and see how I feel in September before I made any decisions about resizing.

Yes, it’s not unheard of for my finger to swell up about half a size. Same thing also happens in heat/humidity.
I sized my ring up half a size, then had sizing beads installed to effectively size it down half a size. It fits on a normal day now, but there’s a bit of swelling room for those days.

my hands swell a lot and I didn’t notice because I didn’t wear rings. My hands swell in the heat/humidity, if I’m doing moderate exercise and due to hormones. My hands also shrink in the cold so my ring can be too tight and too loose.
I would observe your hands through hot and cold weather and hormones before resizing your ring and go with the most common occurrence for your hands. Sometimes that might mean you take your ring for a period of it’s too tight or too loose. Rings can only be resized a number of times before they need to be remade.

Mine is also very loose in cold weather which makes the decision to size up a bit more difficult.
I’m definitely going to wait it out through the summer. If I decide to size up I am going to have the setting remade anyways. The band is very delicate (somewhere between 1.5-17.mm) and is impractical for my job. If I do decide to size up the 1/4 size I would have the whole thing remade to a 2.0mm band… decisions decisions.
