Engaged in Paris:  I think the engagement ring is perfect. I’d go with a thinner wedding band.

I really don’t think it would look good with your engagement ring thinner. If shaving down the wedding band isn’t an option then I’d wait until after the wedding to have it done. That twist design would look even more beautiful made thinner, especially if your going to add another band

Do you have a profile pic? I think it depends a lot on what the prongs / head is like as to whether you can have the band thinned down or not.

I had a similar issue with my e-ring band being too wide but I couldn’t thin it down so I went with a whole ring reset.

They look fab together!  Don’t change it! (is in just the underside that is a problem – like the part of your rings you can see if looking at your palm?)

Hi… (this is actually my first time posting even though I have lurked for YEARS.) I shaved my engagement ring down in the back. It was VERY thick and my short chubby fingers couldn’t handle it. I would get rashes underneath it and on ‘puffy’ days it was terribly uncomfortable. I wish I had a pre-photo to show you how thick the back of the band part was, but suffice it to say, it was 3.5mm in the back. I had my jeweller shave down the “palm” side of the ring to 2mm and blend it with the front. (Please ignore my poor photography skills, phone pics… hence my hesitation to post before.) Anyhow, I am THRILLED with my ring now! The front still appears thicker, but the back is thin enough to be very comfortable.

If a jeweller can do it, i would have it done.

Especially since you want a third. But i would shave both.

At least have your jeweller look at the band. My engagement ring was just a standard in store setting, nothing custom made, and he shaved mine down and you would never know it was done! The difference in comfort was night and day!  AND, bonus, because of the thinner band in the back, it forces the fronts of my rings to STAY in the front. Very little spinning. Good luck!
