So my friend J who I love dearly (and is one of my BM’s) just got engaged and she’s asked me to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man in her wedding. I’m so excited – I’ve never been a Bridesmaid or Best Man before. What’s also amazing is that the wedding is in India – yep, crazy expensive flight but it’s fine – there are very few people I would spend this much on to go to their wedding, she’s one of them.
SO EXCITED! Just had to share.

Exciting! I’ve only been a bridesmaid once! For the only married girl in my wedding party. I wish I knew more, then, about how difficult wedding planning can be–I should have been more supportive but I didn’t really know how or what to do! I hope to be a better bridesmaid in the future (if any of my close friends ever decide to get married! haha).
I hope you love India! Is your friend Indian or is it her fiance? (or both?) My sister taught at an orphanage there for a year and our whole family visited. It was an AMAZING experience. The food is awesome, the people are wonderful!

@MsGinkgo: Very cool, especially since it’s in India too. A lot to experience all at once!

@whitemochi622: her fiancee is from India but a Canadian citizen and she’s Canadian.
I was really hoping she’d ask me but I didn’t want to get my hopes up too much just in case. I’m so ridiculously excited, I feel like a 5 year old at Christmas, it’s so silly. It just means a lot to me. She’s been crazy helpful getting me through the planning of my wedding in May so I’m excited to help with hers too!
@megz06: they’re planning a bunch of parties and events and sightseeing for everyone. It’s over new years too – SO FUN!

@MsGinkgo: Over New Year’s?! Oh man! That is even more exciting! Can you imagine all the lights?? You better come back here and post pics! I just LOVE Indian culture and especially Indian weddings (too much Bollywood movies for me, I know!).
