I can guarantee that guests won’t notice at all. I never remember someone’s dress other than the color.

I mean, it sounds like she did try to find a different dress, you said she “kept coming back to it” so I take that to mean that she didn’t want you to think she was trying to upstage you.  Let it roll off your back, I’m sure you will laugh at this one day!

I really woulnd’t worry about it, especially as your wedding was first….it has no bearing on what people will remember about you in the dress.

This can happen especially with popular dresses. Case in point Adorae by Maggie Sottero. I have attended two weddings where this dress was worn and know of one other girl within our group of friends that also bought this dress. They all know each other and all know they have the same dress. We will have seen it three times on three different brides.

I don’t think it’s a big deal.  Especially since a lot of wedding dresses look the same.  She might have just picked it because it looked best on her.  And unless your dress was some custom creation, it’s probably a popular style.  Sometimes we just happen to choose the same thing, like the Bee earlier today, who was wondering if she should change her cushion halo because her friend got a cushion halo.  Now if she starts using the same colors and trying to hit you up for your old decorations, then that’s getting into weird what-the-hell territory.

I can understand this from your perspective, but think of it as a compliment! She loved your dress enough that she wanted the same one! You, your mom, and her are the only ones who are going to notice, honestly. I don’t think it’s in poor taste for her, and I don’t think it’d be right to be upset at her either. A wedding dress is a wedding dress. I’m sure you looked drop dead gorgeous in it, and I’m sure she will look stunning in her own way.
