@adoc86: Yep, fake profile. She has a real one, as well, that FI’s nutjob ex is allowed on. I friends requested her (years ago) on that one, and she denied it and then sent some fake-nice message about how she “wants to keep things separate,” whatever that means.
@LilRhodyGem: Oh, I’m sure she knows. I don’t make it a secret that I don’t like her. I’m not outright rude to her, but I ignore her unless she speaks to me directly. She’s very rude to my FI’s (very lovely) family, which rubs me all kinds of wrong.
@suburbian: IKR? I told him about it, and he was like, “Oh god. I’ll take care of it.” Bless him.
@vorpalette: we should be BFFs! I can’t stand my SIL either. She’s nuts. Tried to make my life a living hell when we were planning our wedding last year. Kill her with kindness.. that seems to be working for me lately. Gets on her nerves so bad! Good thing your hubby responded! If it was me – my original response would want to be something in the terms of “Well.. I’m not a spoiled brat and we’re paying for most of the wedding by ourselves – not like you, and my wedding means something to me so my guest list is limited, I don’t need everyone and their mother to attend”.
But my wonderful hubby would stop me and probaly respond on my behalf lol
@Bwed2012: Oh, that is SO BADLY what I wanted to say to her. And that was my NICE response!
@vorpalette: lol – well if it makes you feel any better.. my now SIL decided to go to court and get married the day before our engagement party. So during our engagement party what did people do? CONGRATULATE HER ON HER MARRIAGE!! I just played it off like it didnt bother me but obviously it did. Also – when she had her engagement party (after ours) she made a note not to invite me or her brother (my hubby). I can write you a book on how evil she is!
OMG…from what you’ve said about them before, they just sound horrid!!
Who makes up a fake profile to keep their real one separate? That’s so weird!
@vorpalette: I didn’t realize parents and siblings of future husbands in-laws were alotted wedding invites.
What an ass.
I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I would have spewed explicatives in that situation 🙁
@vorpalette: WTF! I think the thing that stood out to me the most in this post was “So I just get a notification from Facebook that she’s posted on my wall (mind you, from her fake profile, because I’m “not allowed” on her real one lolz)” Uhhh…. WHAT??? Your SIL is a ball of crazy. I’m happy that your Fiance took care of it right away.
@vorpalette: doesn’t it just make you wonder if you’re in an alternate universe!
and people say it’s not racist when certain people call the president ” boy”. Uh huh.
Glad your Fiance handled that so well.
I just tell people that I’m deeply offended and embarrassed by their behavior, and don’t want to be associated with it. I’ve had to get up and leave a table in public over this kind of bs.
@Tinatiny1: I literally sunk down in the back seat of the car when he did that. We were at a mall, trying to find this restaurant that FI’s brother was trying to tell him was literally right in front of us. They have people directing traffic in the intersections around the mall (fantastic idea), so when it was our turn to go, he hit the gas to get the 10 feet into the intersection, slammed on the brakes, rolled down his window, and did that. I wanted to jump out of the car and walk back to Michigan.
@vorpalette: lol you made me spit my Vernors out! (Total Michigan thing) You just want to scream, I’m not with this as$ clown !
@vorpalette: I like the part where they would “probably love to” come. What? What does that even mean?
They’re most likely enthusiastic? Possibly elated?
