So I have been exploring nail options and have just recently discovered Shellac nail polish/manicures. I have never had one done (hell I’ve only had 1 manicure/pedicure in my life), and it sounds amazing. I would love to do this on my wedding day, and of course have a trial run beforehand. I was looking at some of the colors on the website and was curious for those of you who have experience, or who have looked yourselves, what colors do you like for the big day? And for those of you who have pictures, please post those as well! Would love to see what some of these colors look like on your nails!

For light/natural(ish) colours: Moonlight and Roses, Romantique, Beau, Negligee
I might wear Masquerade, but it’s not at all subtle!
OPI just brought out UV cured polishes as well and I have Bubble Bath on right now, which is a really lovely subtle warm ballet pink. Very pretty and bridal! OPI plans to bring out more of their regular shades in the UV polish in the future, too.

I’ve had Romantique on my nails a number of times, and think it’s pretty much the perfect bridal colour – very soft ballet pink.
I would love to have a dark, vampy colour on my toes though!

@cdncinnamongirl: oooh!! That is good to know! Thank you!
@Vera Girl: That’s awesome! I’d love to do something similar 🙂 Darker on the toes is a good idea.

I had this done in October as a bridesmaid and had a french mani. I liked it, until my nails started chipping and trying to remove all of them completely was the worse thing ever! If your going to do it, I would suggest having them removed by the techs who applied them.

I want black on fingers and toes!

I LOVE gel manicures. I bought the Red Carpet Manicure set. Its an at home kit that that is the same thing as Shellac.
The best way to get the polish to last is to make sure your nails are grown out so the tech can seal the “free edge”
As for removal, buff the nail, and just use an acetone based remover, soak a cotton ball, place it over the nail and wrap in tin foil. Leave it for about 10-15 minutes and it should peel right off.
I’m not to familiar with the colors from shellac, but I often do french manicures with my RCM kit and i love them!

My fingernails were Romantique, or something similar (light pink anyway).
My toes were bright blue (not shellac, of course)

Love Shellac’s “Clearly Pink” and sometimes I ask they do a coat of something shimmery on top like “Gold VIP Status.”
Shellac is perfect for a wedding!
