I Use shellac all the time on my nails !! And for my wedding day I decided to get my nail done on a Wednesday and my wedding was on Saturday , they looked perfect !! So I don’t think u will have any problem doing ur nail 4 days before !

You probably won’t have any problems. I’ve had shellac a few times and the only time I had any chips 4 days in was when I went to Vegas. I got my nails done the morning of the day we left, and on the plane that afternoon I tried to pull something out of my carry on but caught my nail on it. The nail bent, but didn’t break and it cracked the shellac which left a small chip. Then on our 4th day there we spent pretty much the entire afternoon in the pool. They didn’t look so great after that. (Oddly enough when we went to Florida I again had shellac done, spent a lot of time in the pool and even after 8 days, my nails were perfect).

Ooh – thank you for this post. I was considering Shellac for my wedding, and planned on giving it a test run.
@bellakxo: Hope your wedding is magical!! Congrats, and enjoy!

I had mine done the day before the wedding, because I wanted them to last through our 2 week honeymoon! I’m too picky with how my nails look, so they didn’t last… but they looked FABULOUS for the wedding and the first week of our honeymoon! I went with pink sparkles, and they were one of my favorite things. 🙂 🙂 🙂

@bellakxo: Your nails will be fine! I’m planning to get my Shellac mani the Thursday before our Saturday wedding.

Four days will definitely be fine! I had mine removed after 9 days simply becaue they were getting too long. No chips or scratches.

I have really good luck with gel manicures. My Shellac (and now Bio Sculpture Gel – I changed salons, and they use a different brand) manicures consistently last 2 weeks, or longer.
I did get a shellac french mani and found that it wasn’t QUITE as resilliant as a single color – but I still got a good 10 days of wear before my ends started to peel or chip at all.
