is your area safe to exercise without being able to be in the gym?
as long as it is safe (and not prohibited) to exercise, this, in my experience, has the best effect on mental health.
I also think that you’ve done a great thing to open this thread. Telling people that your struggling can’t be easy, but well done for putting it out there so that people can help and you know you’re not alone.

I second to get outside, if it’s allowed and somewhat safe in your area. Is there somewhere you can go for a walk?.if not, do you have any space where you can just sit outside and breathe in some fresh air?

Ughh this is so frustrating. I understand we have to take all measures possible to protect people from this virus, but at what cost? Do we just keep the entire country shut down until it gets to the point that businesses won’t be able to open back up and the economy can’t recover?
I think some people either forget it plain old don’t realize that for some people permanently being let go from a job and a bad economy can literally kill people as well. Some people will find themselves out of a home or not able to put food on the tables for their families. It frustrates me because it seems like some people only focus on the virus as a means of death in this case and it isn’t. Also we need to build up a herd immunity and if we don’t slowly open things up sooner rather than just pushing back the date that won’t ever happen. Everything will open up at once and everyone and their mother will be out and we will be back to square one.
I’m sorry about your meetings, is there any online AAA meetings you can attend? I would also think that would fall under essential. This is youe sobriety we are talking about here and these meetings are really important for people. So sorry bee i hope you can find some avenue to be able to attend some meetings.

there are AA meetings on zoom also I’m sure OP had a sponsor she can reach out too. It’s rough for sure but it’s thinking like yours why we have over 500,000 cases in the states. Even though people best response is well “China lied” about their numbers how many numbers they could have lied about. Herd immunity can’t be achieved without millions of deaths until there is a vaccine. UK tried the herd immunity until they realized what a mistake it was and then they changed their mind

My state’s governor went straight to 6/10 for ours about two weeks ago. I’m due to give birth around 6/7. It sucks and I definitely feel for everyone struggling. I second the virtual AA classes, and reading helps me check out and get absorbed into something else. Hang in there!

Take care of yourself, OP. Meet with your therapist (if you have one) virtually weekly, attend virtual AA meetings, and take care of YOU! Get outside, drink plenty of water, put on a face mask, watch a new TV show, connect with family and friends over Zoom– you can do this!
a therapist 😊

compare the infection and mortality rates between Sweden and Finland — similarly sized nations who took radically different approaches to containment– and you’ll understand why extreme measures are appropriate here.
reach out to your neighborhood or city leaders. There are probably some good advice/resources for those who wish to exercise outdoors while still keeping safe distancing practices. Also check your local yoga and exercise studios; many are offering group classes over Zoom, often at low or no cost.
