Check out the lighting department at Lowes or HomeDepot. To me, the glass jar looks a lot like an outdoor light globe, which would be super cheap. You could then just wrap a bit of wire around the top to tie the ribbon to.

I found some glass jars with hangers at target in the dollar bin.  I don’t know if they would carry them anymore.  They are a little smaller then what I wanted, but they will still work..

My original idea -in case I couldn’t find the jars with a hanger – was to buy some jars from the dollar store and then hot glue some thick ribbon around the top of the jar. Then take the ribbon and wrap it again but make the ribbon long so when it hits the center of the jar you move it upward to make a hook, then glue it to the other side… make sure to use lots of glue and strong ribbon so that there is no chance for it to come off when you put flowers or candles into the jar.

Tie extra ribbon on to give it some more detail and cover up any Glue mistakes that may have been made… 🙂

I agree that these look like outdoor light globes.  I’m using mason jars from the grocery store.  They come in all different sizes.

So cute! Our location has these, too….but they have ferms hanging from them. I was hell bent on changing that look, but uh, they’re too expensive to mess with at this point…you know, 5 weeks til the big day! ha. Bigger fish to fry.

I love those jars!

I am doing this for my wedding, too. And WalMart, believe it or not, has great prices on cases of vintage looking mason jars. We wrapped wire around the neck of the jars and the grooves where the lids go keep it from sliding. Then we looped ribbon through each side of this wire to make a “handle” for the shepherd hooks. Our flowers cover up the wire pretty well but just in case I hot glued a matching ribbon around the neck to hide the wire from view. About $6 a jar. Amazing! They look beautiful, hope this helps!
