I had my second fitting for my dress last night, and it lasted 2 HOURS! And it was a paaaainful two hours. The seamstress made the waist of my dress pretty darn tight because that’s the only thing holding the bodice of the dress (read: my boobs) up, so my waist was really cinched. I think this will loosen up a bit as I wear the dress more for my next two fittings.
The appointment took so long because the seamstress had to cut the tulle off the bottom (since she can’t hem the tulle, she just cut it…while I was in it. Eek…talk about nerve-wracking!) and put about 60 pins in for the bustle. Because I had to stand basically completely still for 2 hours, my back KILLED me by the end of the appointment. Please tell me this won’t happen on my wedding day!
Is this normal? Did anyone else have pain after a long fitting? I’m hoping I’ll be moving around enough on the day of the wedding that I won’t have any problems.
Here are some pics from the beginning of the appointment; you can see the seamstress at the bottom cutting the dress in the first one.

My first fitting took about two hours – and I found out just how much my heels are killers.

That dress is incredible! The belt, the top, the clouds of tulle! Good thing my wedding is over, or I might be rethinking my slinky little gown.
I didn’t have a long fitting, but I also didn’t have any back pain at all on wedding day. I’m not prone to back pain, just fat, swollen feet :), so I don’t know what that means. You will be moving around a bit, and probably way too distracted with happy things to feel anything in your back. I know that my attention span is about 30 seconds when I’m being made to stand still and quiet, then I start focusing on some itch or other annoyance.

@GDub: @auggiefrog: @MrsJoyful80: Thank you! You girls are sweet!
@nyscpa2be: Thankfully my heels were pretty comfortable.
@bells219: So true. I’m hoping I’ll be on cloud 9 and won’t even notice! Maybe I’ll pop a Tylenol or two that day in preparation though.
@Estrella_Luna: Thank you!! 🙂 I hope your fitting isn’t two hours either! Mine was right around dinnertime, and I was STARVING! Take a snack just in case you’re there for a while!

You look amazing…it’s funny because it’s a dress that you see on TV all the time, and many brides have worn/tried on…but you look amazing and the dress looks different on everyone. You wear it so well!

Your dress looks so pretty on you, I love the color! That was probably so nervewracking when she started cutting your dress, I would have been freaking out! Glad it went well though, so exciting!
