@MrsJ19:  Not through wedding planning, but the family found out a great-uncle was (at the time) in jail, over a year after he went in, for reasons we had no idea about. Crazy.

not wedding related but i found out my “grandpa” –he was great uncle in terms of actual family terms but i called him grandpa… anyways i found out just browsing the newpaper– i never read the paper and i just felt like i should and there he was on the obits….

I googled my mother’s father once… only to find out he’d been dead for a year. I met him for the first time only months before he died. His wife had all of our contact information. She didn’t call or write to any of us. Not even my mother.

@kitcat12:  thats horrible.  thats how my dads cousin was with her parents passing( though my dad was more of his child then she and her husband were)

i did send out a christmas card and save the date and wedding invite to fiances step grandpa only to have it returned to me . he died two days after christmas and his family just send everything back to people.
