My fiance and I are both Shinedown fanatics. She grew up in Florida down the road from them, and I’ve always been a fan since I discovered them in middle school. Well we are wanting to do our entire wedding with Shinedown music. We have every song they’ve ever produced but my ability to figure out what song is better for what and everything… Well…. a 3 year old could be better! hahaha Any suggestions?
Also we have decided to go with a new tradition of putting letters and photos and a bottle of our favorite wine (there is a vineyard here locally that we both love) in a box and putting a lock on the box until we fight then we open the box and re-discover the love from the beginning even in our anger. 🙂 Anyone else do this?
And lastly my older sister and her older brother are both jealous as hell that we are the first to be married. I am going to ask her brother to be my best man as he’s been my best friend for years since we started to date. My sister being the most jealous. Can this be an issue at the wedding?? I’d prefer everyone to have a good time and celebrate but there is Murphey’s law which I am trying to keep in mind.

@jvoytko: Don’t’ know anything about Shinedown, so can’t help you there.
The box idea sounds nice!
No way to tell if sis is going to be an issue. My advice would be talk to her in person and try to smooth over any tension that could potentially surface before the actual wedding if you’re worried.

Ohhhh I LOVE Shinedown!
I want to do the same thing! Lots and lots of Shinedown, as much as possible!
I Haven’t decided what will be where either, I know I was THINKING about using their new song, I’ll follow you, as our first dance, but we had already had our first song dance picked out. But I think I still want it played. But if I get any ideas, I will DEF let you know!! 🙂

Howdy! My future fiance (ahem!) and I are also insane Shinedown fanatics. We’ve probably seen you at some concerts, lol! Missed one in April cause he had to work out of town *sadface*. Anyways.
As obsessed as I am, I honestly can’t imagine using their songs…. for a wedding!! I mean, like, Cyanide Sweet Tooth? Diamond Eyes? .45? I dunno man, lol. And the Crow and the Butterfly is about miscarriage so that might be bad, LOL. If You Only Knew and Unity are nice and sweet, but those are really the only two that stick out that are both softer and happy. But good luck to you there. I’d be interested in knowing how you work that out, let me know!

How do you know they are jealous? Have they told you? I think that brides and grooms are quick to assume that people are jealous of them if they act at all different after an engagement is announced.
Still ask your brother, I’m sure that his girlfriend (fiancee?) will behave herself at your wedding. If she does not, it will only reflect poorly on her. I certainly would not ask either of them if they are jealous, though. That will not end well.

We’re doing the box idea too! Except that we’ll have our dearest friends write us letters about us a couple instead.
