We have decided that the men in our wedding will all wear dark chocolate colored suits. But we are having trouble choosing the shirt color that will look best with it and still follow the color theme of the whole wedding. (See below for our Wedding Palette). What do you suggest? We really don’t want plain white. Also, we had the idea to have all the guys chose their own tie, with the only rule being that it had to match the palette; print/design is up to them. I think this will be cute, but what do you think??
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
Main Colors: Cranberry, Teal (NOT Turqoise), Copper
Accent Colors: Chocolate, Latte, Ivory
Wedding Theme: Rustic Country Charm:)

@bridetobe0327: You could go with the ivory in the suits that will match very nicely. And I love the idea about the print/design up to them for the tie! That seem slike it would be very nice. I am doing a rustic vintage wedding so I can totally picture your style. Great colors!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what you end up doing.

I am gonna say Ivory too! those colors go well together and should be easy to find in a dress shirt for the guys.

Ivory or latte would work for the shirts and maybe a cranberry tie?

Ivory, then you don’t have to worry that they clash with their tie choices. Love that Idea by the way.

Ivory or a lighter brown than the suits… In terms of ties, it may be hard to just send the guys out with names of colors and tell them to match the ties to it…
So, a couple ideas
- Give them swatches of fabric to match the ties with
- Give them their ties as part of their gift (we gave them ties, socks, and gift cards to their favorite store) — You can pick mismatched ties, but then you guarantee them coordinating with the wedding
I love the idea of mismatched ties, but I think it could be hard for the men to pick ties that match…
Cranberry is a difficult color to match to (so many varying shades of burgundy, maroon, deep red, etc…)
Teal is a VERY difficult color to match to (take it from me, I wanted teal but it was slightly too dark so I went with a color called “jade”… I couldn’t find jade in any other thing to match the wedding!)
And Copper is kind of ambiguous… The guys could be confused by what you meant.
So, if I were you, I would be picking out those ties myself – but still making them mismatched 🙂
