@.twist.: Yeah I don’t know. I don’t take myself seriously enough to not completely admit that I am “that girl” a lot of the time. I ask my husband to hand me things to avoid sitting up, I rummage through my purse because it’s so cluttered with crap, I say “LISTEN LISTEN” when my husband is rambling haha! Parody is only funny when it’s a little true.

@KatyElle: yea. I just checked out their twitter feed and that shit is hilarious.
“I can’t stop smiling!” – I say that when I’m laughing. Probably every time I laugh.
“He’s impossible to buy for” – I say this
“I hope I’m not getting Sick” – All the time. In fact, I said that this morning.
“I don’t snore, do I?” – I check with my Darling Husband on this a few times a year.

@KatyElle and .twist – To be totally honest, I have not spent a lot of time exploring my feelings as to why I am offended, but off the cuff I am offended because I think videos like this do nothing for the “girl” stereotype. I work in a male-dominated field, and I absolutely hate it when I get treated differently. I could go on and on, but again, its not worth it for me to soap box, and I don’t want to threadjack……..

from the twitter feed: vodka soda splash of cranberry
…I order that like everytime I go out to the bar. They’re such simple things but so many of us say them all the time!

@.twist.: I think I have said 80% of the ones on the twitter feed and probably 70% on a regular basis. I couldn’t stop laughing.

Did anyone see the Shit Boys Say video? I don’t think it’s as funny or accurate, but it’s still pretty cute!

I’m definitely guilty of a few of those. . .
But I must say that the at least most of the requests I make do contain the words please and thank you, so at least I make a sincere attempt to be polite about it.
I don’t take offense because it’s kind of true! 🙂
I guess my reaction would be some combination of: and and

@.twist.: I’m laughing at this because I know a guy who named his dog “Dude”. 🙂
My guy is more likely to use the word “man” when talking to another guy. For example, if we’re at a casual restaurant and have a male waiter, he’ll say, “Can I get another water?. ..Thanks man.” It’s as though saying “man” allows him to better relate with other men in some instances.
I guess I shouldn’t complain because SO is wonderful about building rapport. He’s got clients all over the age map and can relate well to a lot of people. 🙂

I asked my Fiance to watch it and report back to me…
Him: “yep that’s you”
Me: “which part?”
Him: “all of it”
Guess it’s more me than I realize… lol he said I do the chip thing… I DO NOT. lol He said they missed a few I say daily like “where are my keys/ wheres my purse/ where is this and that and everything else because I can never ever find anything”

I think it’s really important to be able to laugh at ourselves when it comes to some of our funny qualities, so I really don’t find this video offensive at all. We could make one just as funny about guys… sitting in front of their xbox or pretending to listen to us when they really aren’t… females aren’t the only ones attached to stereotypes. My Fiance and I also laughed at the youtube video and I’m not ashamed to admit I could recognize myself in at least half of what we saw haha.
