“7. Eight percent of grooms get a prewedding peek at the dress.”

I’ll have to let Fiance know he’s part of the lucky 8 percent.

Haha! That reminds me of the Friends episode with Ross’s pink salmon shirt.  πŸ™‚

@globalmargaret:  we spent 90 minutes in a jewelry store on wednesday last week…. it was a) get a ring that would not be flush against my e ring or take my e ring diamond and put it on another ring…. i at first like that idea then got emotional about “ruining” his gift to me..im a dork.  and then he wanted a “cheap ring” but the only “cheap” ring he like was an estate ring and he feels odd buying some dead guys ring. lol.. so back to square one with 75 days

1. Eighteen percent of couples ask their guests to arrive in black-tie attire. (I wish!!)

2. One in five couples include purple in their wedding color palette. (Neturals all the way. My mom’s colors were lavender and yellow in 1984.)

3. According to Pantone, there are 116 shades of pink. (Didn’t use a single one.)

4.Twenty-five percent of couples have themed weddings (If you count ‘wedding’ as a theme.)

5. Fifteen percent of wedding receptions are outdoors. (Almost.)

6. One out of every 10 brides doesn’t wear white or ivory(Wish I’d had the guts to wear blush – specifically the extremely out of my budget pincess Lazaro dress.)

7. Eight percent of grooms get a prewedding peek at the dress(Uh yeah…not planned. Had extreme dress regret and showed him a cropped photo in a hysterical crying fit. Also he took the dress in when I found a stain on it a week before the wedding.)

8. Twenty percent of couples have a groom’s cake(We didn’t have any cake.)

9. Sixty-nine percent of brides wear a veil(The veil was the piece de resistance of the whole day. As much as I disliked my dress was as much as I loved my veil.)

10. The average bridesmaid dress costs $147…and only 2 percent of bridesmaids will actually wear their dresses again. (My bridesmaids dress cost $162 or something and my bridesmaids have worn them again. One of my bridesmaids altered it short to wear to a semi-formal and another one of my bridesmaids lent it to her sister for a relative’s wedding in England. I plan on borrowing it for a wedding in June.)

11. Seven percent of brides don’t wear a wedding ring(Left hand, always, duh.)

12. You can squeeze 70 songs into an average four-hour-long reception. (Now THAT is a lot of dancing.)

1. Eighteen percent of couples ask their guests to arrive in black-tie attire.

  • Nope… My bridal party wasn’t even in black-tie attire ha πŸ™‚

2. One in five couples include purple in their wedding color palette.

  • Yup… We sure did πŸ™‚

3. According to Pantone, there are 116 shades of pink.

  • I didn’t use pink… I did, however, discover how many shades of blue/teal/jade etc there are…and green and purple haha… In fact, my colors just became varying shades of blue green, and purple instead of specific shades of them.

4.Twenty-five percent of couples have themed weddings

  • No theme… Love? Fun? My favorite colors?

5. Fifteen percent of wedding receptions are outdoors.

  • Not outdoors… Indoors… With lots of big windows and a balcony you could walk on – I guess that part was technically outside πŸ™‚

6. One out of every 10 brides doesn’t wear white or ivory.

  • I wore white… I didn’t even want to wear ivory, I wanted white white πŸ™‚ …I did wear purple shoes and a purple hair flower for the reception though πŸ™‚

7. Eight percent of grooms get a prewedding peek at the dress.

  • Um no. Definitely not… We’re way too traditional πŸ™‚

8. Twenty percent of couples have a groom’s cake.

  • No… Didn’t even think about it πŸ™‚ haha… Sorry, Darling Husband

9. Sixty-nine percent of brides wear a veil.

  • Yes, I sure did! And I loved it! I actually borrowed it from a friend, but it was so perfect for me πŸ™‚

10. The average bridesmaid dress costs $147…and only 2 percent of bridesmaids will actually wear their dresses again.

  • I can’t remember our exact price now… I think the BMs paid $130 something and my Maid/Matron of Honor paid $140 something (we bought extra fabric to add straps and the MOH’s dress was a different color so she paid for the whole yard, whole the BMs split their yard)
  • I was in a wedding in May- the bride gave us a color from DB and we picked our own dresses… I’ve already reworn it once, and I hope to rewear it more! I really like it… I was also in a wedding in June and I don’t like that dress as much…but I may get it made into a knee length instead of a floor length… I’ll prolly be more likely to rewear it then πŸ™‚

11. Seven percent of brides don’t wear a wedding ring.

  • I wear a ring… Always πŸ™‚ and I will probably eventually wear 2 weddings rings πŸ™‚

12. You can squeeze 70 songs into an average four-hour-long reception.

  • That’s a lot of songs πŸ™‚ I don’t know how many we had, but we made our list in iTunes so we allowed the program to tell us how man hours of music we had… We used the information to know if we needed to add more songs or not.
