I have let my BMs choose their own style of dress from 5 choices… they are each in a different dress. The dresses are midnight blue dupioni or dupioni-alternative fabric. I automatically assumed black shoes were fine, so I told them anything that’s not a sandal or sandal-like heel is fine with me. However now I’m seeing a lot of people saying black shoes with midnight dresses are a huge no-no. I mean the dresses will have a bit of a sheen, so I don’t think they’ll look black. But the GMs are wearing grey vests and black pants/shoes so I didn’t want the BMs in grey, or even worse, shiny silver, shoes. Is black really that big of a problem? I’m letting them wear whatever jewelry they want except pearls because that’s what I’m going to have. And I mean any jewelry-the more personality the better. I just thought shoes weren’t the place to show personality in this case, being that they already have different dresses. Thoughts?
