Hi Y’all,
I know that a lot of brides with bridesmaids wearing navy dresses have asked about what color shoe they should choose for their maids. However, I think my case is slightly different, so I’m just going to ask for your help for my specific situation 🙂
My colors are navy and white with a dash of red. The girls are wearing knee length navy dresses. Don’t know what the men are wearing, but probably navy suits. BM’s will carry red bouquets. I am aware that this might make people think of the American flag, but I actually like that!
Initially, I had envisioned the girls in red shoes. However, my one friend/bridesmaid who I asked first said she thought I would not be happy if everyone’s eyes were drawn to my girls’ shoes in the pictures because they were bright red. She suggested navy, nude, silver or white as options but said I ultimately choose what I wanted. I asked the girls and they are pretty split in between nude, red, navy and silver. Nude won slightly. What do you think?
I am wondering if maybe because everyone will be carrying red flowers that perhaps the red won’t stand out so much?

If your colors are red, white, and navy I think white shoes would look really good with the navy dresses

My ladies wore navy dresses with navy shoes. But they were also floor length dresses, so shoes were not a big deal.
I voted that either navy or silver would look nice. I personally don’t like nude color shoes, but that’s a quirk of me, if your ladies are ok with it then I think it’s fine.

I’m also commenting because I’m doing navy Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses too 🙂
I think nude shoes would be really pretty as a neutral option. Would the red shoes match the red flowers? If so, I don’t think the red shoes would be distracting at all, instead I think they would balance the look out. If the shoes were brighter than the flowers or patterned, then I could see how they’d draw the eye downward.

My best friend is getting married, and our dresses are navy. We will all wear either nude or gold shoes of our choice.

Navy dress/white shoes reminds me of little girls. And navy/navy sounds too matchy-matchy.
I say go with red!

My ladies have floor length navy blue dresses and I’m hoping they choose to wear metallics. I guess a nude would work as well. I’m not dictating their shoe choice, however, so we’ll see what I get!

I’m having navy dresses, and honestly was thinking about just using black lol. If not I guess a metalic or nude would work. I don’t really want feet sticking out as being such a light color though. Hmmmm now I need to think more about this.

My girls are wearing gold shoes (long dresses, though)…I think navy shoes for short dresses would look best.

I am the same color scheme, but coral instead of red and I want coral shoes…but here is someone who did Pink – your eyes do draw to the shoes a bit – but I don’t think many people will see that much of the shoes?

Thank you Ladies!! I told them they could do nude, gold or silver because those are all relatively neutral.

I had my girls wear silver w/ their navy dresses (they were floor length for our formal winter wedding so nobody saw them though, lol). I told them to wear whatever silver shoe they wanted as long as they didn’t have stripper-height heels, so they could wear something they already owned if they could/wanted
