Hmm…between the SW and Ninas, I think you should go with the SW, so that you can be more comfortable. The last thing you want is for your feet to be screaming in pain! However, I’m not ready to let you give up on your purple shoe hunt yet…

@MissKatelyn: I think if you already know what height of shoe you’re in the ballpark of looking for, you should be okay!  Just switch them out later, and I imagine the seamstress can make more changes if need be?

you can dye SW’s if they’re white or ivory–they told me that at the boutique.  I would keep the SW’s for the fitting, and try to find the same height in white to dye purple.  If you stay within a brand, I feel like the chances another style but same heel height will be just fine.

And yes, they are much more comfortable than some other brands! I am biased since I’ll be wearing Stuarts at my wedding, too 🙂

(these came blue, but the boutique insists that they were probably manufactured white, then dyed. Who knows. I got them through Zappos.)

A lot of Stuarts can be died, but I think it would be best to check with the company. Which pair do you have?

@MissKatelyn: Ah okay. Yeah, I understand, when i was on the hunt for blue shoes, and lots of people were suggesting dyed shoes and I had the same concern (even though my wedding is in California).  The hunt for your perfect purple shoes continue! 🙂  I’ll let you know if I see anything.

I would call the company and ask whether they can be dyed, but the woman I spoke with said yes, definitely, any white satin Stuart would be great.  They may even be able to recommend someone to dye in your area, which would be ideal.
