I had my shoes dyed at a shoe place in Manhattan. The guy who works there pulled out a big book showing all the different possible colors, I chose one, I gave him my shoes, and a few days later I picked them up. If there’s a certain color you are trying to match, bring in a swatch so that you can find the closest match in the book.

@stillme:Same experience in Alexandria, VA.  Brought them in, picked a color, picked them up a few days later!

I went to this place:

I think they have a few locations in the city, but I went to the one on 7th Ave b/n 20th and 21st. It was recommended by the place where I bought my shoes, and the guy did do a great job! It wasn’t super cheap, though…I think I paid about 35 bucks for it?
