Originally, I was planning to wear flats on my wedding day. I’m 5’8″, Fiance isn’t that much taller than I am, and I wanted to be comfy. However, my dress is just a taaad too long. Usually I would get it hemmed, but it has a scalloped lace/beaded edge at the bottom. I don’t even want to think about how much that would cost to hem! So I am going to wear some low heels (around 2-2.5″) and my dress is the perfect length.
Here’s the catch. We’re on a very tight budget, and I really can’t afford to spend more than $30-$40 on shoes. My dress is ivory and I don’t want any patent/shiny shoes, so it’s been hard to find things in my price range.
Found these from Payless’s Bridal Collection. I like them, but don’t love them, but they are right on budget at $27.99! What do you Bees think? Should I get these or keep looking?

I would check eBay. They have updated their site and it’s way easier to find shoes now. You can narrow it down by size, silhouette, heel height, color, width etc. Btw,that is considered medium height. Low heels are less than 1.75″.

@whitarens: You could also think about putting a crinoline under your skirt if it is just a tad too long. I personally wouldn’t spend $30 on shoes that I would never wear again, but if you’re comfortable doing that, then I say go for it.

@bunnyharriet: I didn’t realize that! I guess 2″ just seems like low heel compared to others. I will have my MOH/sister try eBay for me–hadn’t thought of it. I have no patience for it and it gives me a headache, but she is brilliant at finding great bargains.
@housebee: Even with the crinoline, I need a little bit of a heel to make it the right length. I don’t really want to spend money on shoes I won’t wear again either, but I feel like that will save me money over hemming it. I wanted to get shoes in my wedding colors (dark teal and coral) so that I would wear them again, but haven’t been able to find any in my price range in those strange colors. I think I will keep looking and buy these as a last resort!

They’re not my favorite, but if you like em, go for em! Also check out overstock, DWS.com, shoes.com, ideeli.com, etc etc for good deals…

@happybbbeee: I’m going to swing by my local Payless today–hoping to find them in store and try them on. If they’re comfy, that might be enough to push me over the edge.
@lolot: Great suggestions! I’ll check them out before purchasing for sure!
