@joanne150406:  I love that Betsy Johnson shoes also provide you with your something “blue.”  How perfect?!

@lollygagon:  I agree! My fiance is only a few inches taller than me so when I was looking for my wedding shoes I had to make sure that the heel height wasn’t TOO high. I typically wear flats on the day to day so I definitely wanted to change it up and wear something with a heel for the wedding. It seemed like every pair of shoes I liked would make me a giant!

@PoppyH:  I love this! Your shoes are so cute and I love the coordinated colours! Did you have your shoes dyed? I’m really interested in that option because I can’t find shoes that are similar in colour to the bridesmaids’ dresses, but I read somewhere that they bleed and turn feet the colour of the dye. Did you find that happened with yours?

@jaykwellan:  Nope my shoes were not dyed I was lucky that they came in the same colour as my girls’ dresses.

I do have a lot of experience with dyed shoes. You are correct is saying that the dye is transferable, and should you get them wet the dye is going to run. Shoe dye is generally a vegetable based water soluable dye, because most places do not have the appropriate ventilation to dye with a permanent dye. Also the only type of shoes that you can dye to ensure proper colour is a white untreated satin, anything else is not designed to take dye, or if the shoe has been treated, and sealed, the dye will not be able to be absorbed.

In short, dyed shoes are a pain in the ass, and I honestly would never bother unless I absolutly had to.

What colour are you looking for?

@PoppyH:  Thanks so much for all the information – that’s a huge help! I’m looking for a purple shoe that’s as close as possible to David’s Bridal’s plum colour. There’s so many variations of purple out there that it’s hard to find one that’s close, so I hoped I could go to the source and just get some shoes from DB but no such luck so far!
