I’ve been pretty good about thinking through all of my purchases. I still love my dress and my veil and my jewelery. But a little less than 6 months out from the wedding, I started experiencing shoe regret. The shoes were my first purchase after the dress and I loved them.
Here they are:

Then I got them and I didn’t love the fabric because I never saw myself wearing dyables and I started to regret the peep-toe but I just put them in my closet and thought “They’re cute and they go under my dress. There’s no reason to buy a new pair.”
Fast forward to the other day. I walk into DSW and right in front of me is a pair of mint patent leather heels. Mint is one of our wedding colors and I died as soon as I saw them. They were on sale for $40 and they basically only came in my size, so I bought them. It was fate. I had to.

So these are my new shoes. What do you think? I spent $65 on the last pair and $40 on these guys so I definitely wasted a little bit of money but I’m not losing sleep over it. Maybe I’ll try to sell the other ones? We’ll see

Definitely love your newer shoes more! Maybe try selling your first ones to recoup some $$ & help another bride out! Otherwise, even, I, someone who lives on a budget, thinks it was great purchase & worth the first loss!

i like the second pair! the first one is cute, but i’m not too crazy about the applique.
i bought 2 pairs of shoes too. the first pair were flats, but then i found some cute heels that i decided to wear. i loved the flats so much and hated the thought of returning them, so i just kept them.
i would suggest keeping the first pair if you really like them and would wear them, but it sounds like you’re kind of over them, so it doesn’t hurt to try to sell them 🙂

@stephanie091512: I rationalize it by thinking about how I didn’t buy a $400 pair of designer heels like a lot of brides do because, let’s be honest, I will never actually wear them again.

@lilchicana: Yeah, I knew that they would have been something I would wear to the wedding and then never again. I may have also spent $25 for a pair of tiffany blue converse at Marshall’s but those babies are going to take me way beyond the wedding reception.

I like them both! Shoe regret is much cheaper than dress regret, so good job! lol

I have a thing for peep toes, so I’m a tad bit biased! I don’t really like the first pair though!

@BeeOi: Yup! They were from WalkinOnAir on Etsy (who I still recommend. Great price, great service, speedy delivery). They’re definitely aqua. I originally wanted aqua as part of our color scheme so they fit really well but when that changed I changed my mind on the shoes. They are definitely comfortable and the heel is a nice, manageable height.
And if you’re looking for a 7.5, I’ve got a pair right here lol

@FutureMrsWeston: Cute! Also have shoe regret 🙁 My current ones were $80 (satin with a glitter pom pom and kitten heel) and the ones I’m thinking i should’ve gotten were half the price and look just like yours (patent, around same heel height as well) but a nude color. But I’ve already changed dresses four times and my fiance really likes them So I’m just going to wear them 😛

@FutureMrsWeston: Your shoes are probably going to be one of the smaller things in your budget, so I wouldn’t worry about it. If you’re really tight on money, I’m sure you can find a way to save $65 somewhere. Love both, but glad you found one that you’re thrilled with!
