When to splurge? Hello Ladies! I am getting married in two months and I am completely behind and overwhelmed. Needless to say my first dress fitting in Saturday and still can’t find shoes I am 100% happy with. My fiancé is a HUGE Boston Celtics fan and they have these fantastic pumps for sale for *GULP* $275.00 but I can’t seem to hit the purchase button. I know I can find ivory pumps for like $50 – $100 for the amount of time I will be spending on them but can’t help thinking of my fiancé’s face when he sees my Celtic’s shoes and garter (already purchased). Being so close we are really feeling the budget and I know I can use that little extra somewhere else but I love them. I think my guilt is stemming for already being a two dress bride as well…… should I just splurge or resist temptation!?!?
Dream Shoes = ) Also, I wear heels like this daily so walking not an issue = )

Those are awesome!!!!
If you have the money and want to splurge I say go for it! My wedding shoes were around $200 but I had to have them!

You already have the Celtics garter, so I’d stop there. Unless you plan to wear these shoes frequently after the wedding, and have places that are appropriate for said shoes. there os no good reason to blow the budget.

@jhey83: You don’t have the money for them and (assuming your dress is full length because you’re considering shoes for alterations) hardly anyone will see them for that price.
Your Fiance will be just as happy with the Celtics Garter. Or is your entire wedding Celtics themed?

@jhey83: I am not a sports fan and normally I am a STICK TO THE BUDGET AT ALL COSTS girls, and assuming you’re not spluriging on anything else… will you be in CC debt for these? if not, GO FOR IT. HE WILL LOVE YOU AND THEM!

If you can fit into the budget, then go for it! It’s fun and memorable and the shoe pictures will be awesome!
However, if you really need the extra $200 elsewhere, then maybe you can do a plain solid pump in the same color and call it a day.

I think we all need to plurge sometimes, but will you ever wear these again?
Could you get a pair of plain green glitter or rhinestone pumps and a rhinestone clover shoe clip?

Normally I’d say no to frivoulous splurges just for shoes, but since this has meaning to your Fiance and he’d love it, I think it’s worth it. I see it as more of a gift to him than as just a shoe splurge.
ETA: You could totally use the garter and shoes again for a sexy boudoir shoot for him too! 🙂

@jhey83: to be honest, while the idea is cool, those shoes do not seem wedding-appropriate to me. They seem to fit better in well, a club environment. That’s just my .02. Unless you are planning on wearing them a lot afterwards, I say go classic and then maybe get him a celtics grooms cake, or cufflinks, or something along those lines. Those shoes will be in photos forever… and will probably look cheaper than the classic ivory.
Anyways, just my opinion.

Hi Ladies! Thanks again for all the input; it’s appreciate and nice to try and view things both ways as I am trying to be reasonable. To answer some questions: I would absolutely wear them again (we go to Celtic’s game frequently); obviously not once a week but def. more than just my wedding day. The other big question is have I spulrged really on anything else; I havent. My dress has a built in corset so not undergarmets were needed; its a full lace top so I don’t need any jewlery besides earings and my rings and I have been ULTRA conservation with everything (making my own centerpeices, shopping around for chaircovers which hotel was $1200 my girl is renting them to me for $300 including putting on and taking off! Besides a few other DYI projects I have saved a bundle on). That was my reason to splurge because I am saving a TON elsewhere but still a lot of money on shoes to me. Thank you again ladies! I love seeing things from both sides = )

Resist! It’s a nice idea, but you have the garter! Keep it simple and stick to your budget. When you’re already spending thousands on the wedding $200 doesn’t look like much but it’s still $200.

Will you be able to wear them again?

I think I would just get a pair of pumps in that colour, to sort of hint in the direction of your team – but not scream it out in the way these shoes does.

@KoiKove: I would. We go to Celtic’s games frequently. My 5 year old daughter will actually sit with my fiance and watch; learning the players names thats how often it’s watched in our house LOL I love them too, not as much as him obviously. But I know he will LOVE them. You should have seen his face when I came home in my first Celtic’s jersey as a surprise LOL

@BlondeBee: I totally agree. However, if he loves them that much then I say go for it. I spent way more on my shoes so I would never tell someone not to splurge!!!
