- Wedding: July 2018
For my wedding in July I am wearing a pair of Angela Nuran shoes – the Starletta peep-toes to be more exact. While these are more comfortable than most other heels I’ve worn, I’m under no illusions that they’ll still be comfortable after 5+ hours. The heel is just under 4″ and they have about a 1″ platform.
So, I’ve started looking around at good options that might be more comfortable for me to change into later if I need to – the only issue is that my dress, of course, is being hemmed to fit the height of the Angela Nuran shoes, and as much as I’d love to just throw on a pair of flip flops, I really don’t want to have to drag around my dress and worry about tripping over it or it getting destroyed.
I considered a pair of wedges, but when I thought more about it, I figured they realistically probably wouldn’t end up being much more comfortable than the original shoes – a 4″ heel still puts your foot at an awkward angle, even with a platform in my experience. The wedges I own in this height still get uncomfortable after a while.
But I also saw wedges that were more like platform sandals. My only concern with these was remembering how often I used to wear them (I’m a 90s gal, after all) and how close I also came to twisting my ankle multiple times, haha.
Thoughts? Opinions? What did you guys do about shoes, if anything?
