So I bought my dress a year ago, and I’m still up in the air about shoes. I’ve gone from kitten pumps that I wasnt a super fan of, to custom flats but I felt it wasnt formal enough, to considering dr martens in purple velvet, etc etc. I just cant find anything I really love. Originally I was looking to do my shoes purple to match my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. Now I’m not so sure. Everything I see I’m just not sure about. The only pair I found that I was sure about and bought ended up getting refunded due to a flaw and sent back to the manufacturer, they were nike mary janes. I havent found another pair since. We thought it would be funny considering I run in nikes.
A little information on me. I’m a runner, I’m traveling for my wedding. I’d prefer to not be bringing super bulky shoes in a bag. I also have arthritis in my feet, hips, knees and back. I’m frugal, and I have a real issue paying 200 for a pair of shoes that is going to be worn once.
All of these factors are important. I cant wear super high heels pretty much ever. 2 days before my wedding I maybe running a 5k, the day before my wedding I am running a half marathon and bowling. The morning of my wedding I will likely swim to get my jitters out and work out the lactic acid. February is also very iffy with my joints my arthritis is not the wear and tear type but autoimmune. Hence why I do not want a heel more than 2 inches tall. My feet will likely be toast by wedding time and I’m not altering my schedule for shoes :D.
All of this hemming and hawing has had me looking at shoes again. I found mouse shoes! I’ve stared at thes marc jacobs shoes for years and always told myself I’m not going to pay 185 for a pair of flats. Yet I stared at them today and I say these will be reworn. I love flats, and my fiance likes me in flats it makes him feel tall. I also know that Dr Marten soles are sometimes a little hard for my feet, flats are usually ok, but I have no experience with Marc Jacobs shoes. I’m considering going this route, because its something I’ve wanted a while. I could get them in ivory to match my dress. Its not the color pop I intended but I think a little mousey nose with beady eyes is a pop of flare in its own right. I’m also getting married by the mouse at disney.
Do you think this would be cute or not? My dress is very very fancy lots of lace and bling. I am a very laid back girl with a little quirk. I have shark slippers that chomp when I walk and I chase my cats with them. I love them. I also know these shoes will be easy on my feet for long walking and standing. I just know nothing about marc jacobs sizing, and I have an issue with the cost. Yet its something I’ve wanted so so long, and maybe I’m just trying to justify buying them? Thoughts? Would you wear mice under your dress? Yes if I do this there will be mice feet photos :D.
