What do you recommend for commuting? This summer, and perhaps all year round, I plan to commute by foot or bike to work, about 30 minutes. I need a cute flat with support that can be bought in France or online. Preferably something that will last and not give shin splints bc. of no support.
Also, I’m looking to ‘invest’ in my first pair of heels that I could actually walk in. I’m thinking of the Camper Kim or Helena (?) the lower one. Does anyone have camper heels? Do you find they last a while? I would try to only wear them inside.
Thanks for your shoe wisdom, I have none!

@FrenchNewlyWed: The Puma Zandy flats are very comfortable and are available online. I would also suggest the Cole Haan Air Bacara by Maria Sharapova, which are slightly dressier.
As for comfortable heels, my favorite are the Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps. I want to get a pair of LK Bennett Sledge pumps, but I don’t have experience with them yet.

@somethingaquamarine: Thanks for the great idea re. the Pumas! I am wearing Pumas right now, but they aren’t dressy.
These ones are really nice…http://www.zalando.fr/puma-bixley-ballerines-mauve-pu111a03e-406.html
I can see Wynn and Bixley buy no Zandy, maybe that’s the older model?

I would suggest doing what many in DC and NYC do – wear sneakers and change at work. Walking 30 minutes (each way?) every day in crappy shoes without support is going to wreak havoc on your feet, knees. If you’re walking that much daily, wear good shoes!

@kaylee26: are you looking for a solution too?
