I’m 5’2″ and was paranoid all the gowns would swallow me whole. Especially wanting a lot of lace, it seemed like it would be ‘too much.’ Luckily a sheath/skinny A-Line style can look proportional and is comfy for a hot summer wedding!

I’m 5″1 and about 95 pounds, this is my dress. I wanted something fairly fitted at the waist but flowy at the bottom.

MrsSaez:  hi!! I am also quite short- 5’2 and was a little self conscious about what kind of dress Would look good on me. I never thought it would be a ballgown but it is! I would definitely try on a variety of styles because you never know until you try it on!!

I’m 5’2″ and was probably around 117 at the time. When I was younger I totally wanted a ballgown but now that I’m older and have a better sense of what works on me I decided to go with something more fitted. Plus, I like art deco so wanted something kind of reminscent of that era.

I’m 5’2 and 100lbs – I was so worried about this too because I didn’t want to look like a fairy or be swamped by a gown! I chose a fit and flare although I hope to get it altered and use a petticoat to get more of slim a-line look!

This is a picture of the dress, directly from Allure Bridal’s website (they only ever show it with the black lace).  Mine is white, but I couldn’t get a picture of me in the white one because the bridal salon doesn’t allow pics.  I’ll post as soon as the dress ships to me though!

When I first started looking at dresses, it never crossed my mind that a mermaid style fit and flare gown would work on me because I felt like it would accentuate how petite I am.  But the consultant talked me into it, and I was stunned- I looked taller and more hourglass-shaped.  She said us shorter ladies tend to want to avoid the mermaid silhouettes, but we can really work it!

This is my fit and flare Pnina! I felt ball gowns swallowed me and mermaids/fit and flare felt the best!

I’m 5 feet and about 125lb. I’m also standing on the pedestal!

I’m short-ish (5’2) and I’m planning on wearing flats on my wedding day. I originally wanted to avoid princess-y dresses since everyone says petite girls should avoid them, however I found out that the form form-fitting style dresses didn’t work on me because they didn’t hit me in the right spots. Instead, I found a-line to work best for me, and some ball gowns.

Here is what I ended up picking:
