s2bmrscook:  I … die. You look stunning. Can I ask who your designer is? There are not enough out there with black in the dress! I love…black.

I’m just barely 5 feet tall and wore a very poofy not-quite-tea-length dress. Although my heels were pretty formidable ( about 5 inches?). My shopping advice would just be to keep an open mind and try one of every silhouette – the slim cut dresses that are “supposed” to look good on petites did nothing for me.

PunkRockPrincess:  Awww thank you!!! My dress was Brooklyn by Maggie Sottero. It was discontinued when we purchased it so I got the floor sample. It was several sizes too big so I got to have a lot of fun with alterations!

I am 4’11” and 95 lbs. I’ve ordered this David’s Bridal in a size 0 petite. The one in picture is a size 10 and NOT a petite, hence the reason I am scrunching it around the hips. David’s said the bodice is 1″ shorter in their petite sizes, and the length will be 3″ shorter. I am wearing 4″ heels in the photo but intend to wear shorter heels at the wedding. I’m sure my actual dress will have to be hemmed.

I am 5’1 and 105lbs. I wore a tea length dress with peep toe flats. I removed alot of the crinoline and had it altered to just below my knee because the ankle length-poofy looked really odd on me. I LOVE my dress and it was so perfect for our outdoor ceremony!

Yay for short girls!!!! <3

5’2″ bride here! My dress is technically a ball gown but I purchased an A-line slip under so it didn’t poof out too much. I didnt feel like it swallowed me at all! The fabric (silky taffeta) was super light and easy to wear!
