I own those ballet flats. Exact same ones. I wore them to my JoP wedding and they’re superbly uncomfortable and rub. I’d avoid them.

I vote no…..but I’m not a tomboy. Lovely that you want a reflection of you. But I just don’t think they would flatter the dress much.

What do your bridesmaids think? If I were a bridesmaid I wouldn’t be too happy at the thought of wearing converse, but everyone’s different.

@Shanna777:  I’ve seen several bride and bridesmaids doing this…well converse or chuck tailors. So you wouldnt be alone in this by a long shot

I vote no to the converse. I appreciate having a touch of your own personality at your wedding, but I also think many people wouldn’t be thrilled to put on a pretty dress…. and sneakers. I know I wouldn’t be happy and would feel…. out of place. I just don’t think it looks very nice.

i really like the converse idea! but i don’t think they would fit with that dress b/c its too formal. if it were a bit flowier or had a less elegant feel/look then i think it could work, but not with the dress you chose. sorry :/

I think there’s no problem with converse at weddings (and I would far prefer a pair of chucks to heels). I’m wondering though if the dress is just a bit too fancy. It might work fine though. I think I’d probably go with the charcoal, just because it’s hard to tell if the purple of the shoes and the dress will look good together.

I would only do converse for girls at an outdoor wedding.

    I vote grey converse!

I wear them all the time so I guess Im a bit like you with liking them! There was a girl I went to school with who got married who was a real tomboy and she and her BMs wore chucks. I think if everyone knows you and knows your personality then why not!

I voted no to converse. I think it’s cute, but at least for me (large muscular calves) a knee-length skirt/dress and shoes like that together are really unflattering on your legs.  So as a bridesmaid, I would prefer to wear something different.

Depends on your bridesmaids. Does it fit their style, too? If so, then I think the purple ones would look cute!

Why not have them change into converse for the reception? I think either those or TOMs would make a good gift from you. And maybe let them pick out their own silver/grey flats.
