I personally hate the look! In my opinion it is a complete style clash and I don’t understand it. I also think women in chucks and short dresses looks frumpy.
But that is just my opinion if you love it go for it!

I love converse, I really do! Not for a wedding though. I had ideas when I first started planning that it would be fun to do this, because my Fiance and I are so laid back, and so are all of our friends. However, the more I planned and thought about it, I hated the idea. I think first of all, that the satin dresses are too dressy for this kind of look. I also think that you might look back in 10 years and wonder what the heck you were thinking in wearing tennis shoes at your wedding lol. Maybe you could have the girls wear dressier flats for the ceremony, and then change into chucks for the reception? That would be my vote if you really want to do it. And if you do, you should look into a different fabric for the dresses. Or at the very least, I would pick the grey converse, as you dont know if the purple of the shoes will clash with the purple of the dress. One last point, I see a LOT of people doing this more and more, so the idea wouldn’t really be unique anymore, if that’s what you were going for. But that’s just my two cents, go for it if you love the idea! Just think about it!

I voted gray converse, its your day do what you love! And the example photos other bee’s posted are super cute and awesome!
You could have the ceremony done in silver sparkle flats with some pro photos in these shoes, then have the girls change into the converse for the entrance and reception and have the rest of the pro photos done wearing the converse, this way you get the best of both worlds.

I think the idea of converse is really cool!! I selected purple just because if I were a bridesmaid, I’d want some purple sneaks rather than gray, much more fun. Honestly, I’m not sure which (purple or gray) would look better with the dresses.

I’m not against the idea of converse in a dress, but I agree with other people that the satin, fancy dress really clashes with the shoe style.
I think converse would look better with more matte fabrics, like jersey or even chiffon.

Ive seen a few weddings where the BMs wore long dresses and converses. That looks better. I think that dress is too fancy, so go with the flats to coordinate better.

@Shanna777: I like it, but go with whatever is your/their style! Flats are also cute 🙂

I agree with what some of the other posters have said about the style of the dress being too formal for the converse, although I do love the color of the purple converse! So pretty! I think the purple ones would look awesome with a grey chiffon dress.
Someone else mentioned Tom’s, those might be a good compromise between the converse and sparkly flats, as they have the “Tom”boy vibe, but you can still get super cute styles with lace or sparkles…
What about these?
Silver Crochet Women’s Classic Tom’s
Silver Women’s Glitter Tom’s
Just a thought. Ultimately it’s your wedding, so do whatever makes you happy! 🙂

Maybe you could let them wear whatever shoes they want for the wedding and then give them converse to wear for the reception so they are comfy for all the dancing.
