So I am in the same boat. School has really beaten me on exercise and I’m finally getting back into my routine. Before this I lost the ten lbs u speak of. My exercise included 30min on the wii and or daily hike, run, swim, some type of activity. What I really think helped was decreasing my calories. Eat half the portion size/ calorie counting. Lost 10-15lb in three months. Going to try again currently I’m at 113. Also eat more veggies. I also used my food pyramid but this time around I’m using my fitness pal app.

It’s really hard to take weight off because I feel physically  fit (since I ski 3-4 times per week) but it does nothing! I feel your woes!

@lawbride88:  Hey there, I’m taller than you (5’5″) but since we’re getting married the same day and have about the same to lose, we could keep each other on track!

I have a pretty petite frame, no boobs etc, and am at 122 right now – was 126 a week ago after about a month of total indulgence (vacation in the tropics, etc).  My Fiance and I started the South Beach Diet this week, so some of that is likely water weight.  My ultimate goal is about 110.

Good luck!  I think cutting out white carbs, refined sugar, fried stuff, and alcohol is really going to help us.

I’m in a similar situation! I’m 5’1 and currently at 135lbs. I’m hoping to get down to 125. The wedding is in June, but I’m hoping to be close to goal by mid April which is when my first dress fitting will be. Ahh that’s not too long from now!

I’m 5’4″ and 147, my wedding is in June, and ideally I’d like to lose 10-15 pounds by then!  I lost about 20 a year or so ago and have kind of been stuck since then.  I don’t really have a strict diet, just trying to cook healthy foods at home and cut down on eating out and drinking alcohol.  Hopefully we can all offer each other some support!

@lawbride88:  thanks, I hope so! I lost about 60lbs a few years ago by following the South Beach diet. I plan on continuing that by lowering the amount of carbs I eat, and avoiding refined sugars, white flour, and processed foods. We bought an exercise bike last weekend that I’ve been using, and hope to continue using about four times a week. Hopefully it works! It’s definitely harder when you’re small, but every pound really effects things!

You can totally do this! I’m 5’1″ and just got back into working out and eating right. I’m currently 120, but would like to get to 112-115. I came up with the following rules for myself:

NO soda.. not even diet!

NO fried food whatsoever

Bread only on rare occasions (I haven’t had any bread this week. I used a wrap for lunch two days and get my grains from whole grain rice)

At least 3-4 servings of veggies a day

2-3 servings of fruits a day

Lean protein with lunch and dinner

One sweet under 200 calories per week

Cardio 4-5 days a week

Strength training 3-4 times a week (I’m currently taking a MMA class 3 nights a week, so it kind of covers cardio and strength together)

I’ve lost 2 lbs already! Hope this helps 🙂 It’s easy once you get into a habit!

@lawbride88:  I don’t count calories. I would drive myself crazy haha! I eat when I’m hungry, except instead of a piece of candy, I go for a yogurt or a piece of fruit. If I plateau, I might make a few more tweeks to my diet.

My favorite breakfast is a breakfast smoothie – 1 Chobani Raspberry Greek Yogurt, 1 cup any frozen fruit and 1/2 cup of water in a blender. SO good and filling!

@lawbride88:  Oh and bread isn’t necessarily bad, but if I do have some, I have it in the morning or with lunch – NEVER with dinner. That way, I have time to burn it off! And always make it whole grain bread. Dinner I usually do a lean protein with veggies; yogurt or fruit for a snack if I need one!

I’m with you! I’m 5’2″ (on a good day) and 128. I’d like to get to 120, see how I look and then probably move down to the 110-115 range. My BMI is healthy but just barely so I’d like to move more center, you know?
