I think you should continue trying on dresses, short and long until you find the one. I’d say keep each shopping trip short, and only try on a few dresses at a time so you avoid overwhelming yourself. Take pictures of each dress and determine what you like about each and what you don’t like so maybe you can narrow it down.

P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the one that tinylittlebird posted. Maybe if you get a little more dramatic with the short dress you’ll find everything you want. By the sound of it the short dress you tried on was everything you didn’t want, other than the fact that it was short.

I never understood the “is it bridal enough” question. You’re the bride, you’re wearing it, so of course it’s bridal. If you love the tea-length dress, why should it matter if it looks like society’s expectations of what a bride should look like? If it makes you happy, wear it, lady!

i love the mermaid style on you! but its totally a personal prefrence to go long or short.

i think short can look very bridal – like PP said the veil and accessories will really help

I’m wearing Amsale’s Martine for my cocktail reception wedding. I can’t wait. Super fun and I still feel like a bride in it. Plus, it only takes 2 months to order in (well, for me anyway!)

I think that tea length dresses can make you feel more bridal than knee length. Look at Audrey Hepburn’s in Funny Face:
