I have a short Fiance too, so I totally feel your shoe-pain. I’m going with a pair of flats, just because they’re easier to wear (it’s not really the height for me, but the clumsiness).

I’m guessing you’ll be more comfortable in flats too, since you said they’re easier to walk in.

If you have a long dress, the only time you’ll see your shoes is in photos, so I don’t think it’s worth it to wear short heels.

Go for your high shoes! Unless there’s a specific reason to why you want to be shorter or the same height as your FH then I’d just go with whatever shoes take your fancy. There’s also definitely things you can do in photos if that’s what your worried about, having your FH stand slightly behind you and things like that – your photographer should be able to work that out if you’re worried. I ended up being 1.5 inches taller than Darling Husband on our wedding day – I thought it would bug me lots in photos and it doesn’t at all.

Fiance is about 2 inches taller than me, but really that’s just a convenient excuse for me to wear flats because I hate wearing heels. I know they look good but I’ve always found them uncomfortable for long periods of time. It sounds like you will be more comfortable in flats, and as long as you are wearing a long dress, people honestly won’t even be able to tell the difference between you wearing flats and a 1″ heel.

There’s those cute Croc flats that are peep toe (I keep recommending them everywhere cause you can’t buy them yet in the UK and I’m living vicariously through all you Bees!). I think the style was called “Tamilia” or something similar.

I’m glad you asked this question! My Fiance and are are the same height. I don’t want to be taller than him, so I’ll probably end up in flats (that’s what I usually wear anyway). I’m just hoping I don’t look too short in my dress!

I have the total opposite problem! My Fiance is extremely taller than me – but I am still going to wear fancy slippers. I have never been comfortable wearing heels – and I know I would feel horrible wearing them on my wedding. SO I am just bypassing that.
I think you should wear whatever you want! Especially if you are already taller than Fiance then it shouldn’t matter if you get even taller. My parents look OK in their wedding pictures – my mom is 5’9″ and my dad is 5’1″. Hehe wierd couple.

    Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a high heel girl too. And for some reason I just dont like low heels. If i couldnt wear 3+ I would pick flats.

I had to wear flats too because of the same reason..I could get away with maybe 1 or 2 inch heels but wanted to be sure I looked shorter than my hubby!. These were mine!
