@mrsjroo:  after searching PubMed for actual medical articles, I found like zero research on luteal phase defects after coming off birth control pills, nothing on a consistent cycle length but inconsistent ovulation/variable luteal phase after BCPs, and there is still inconclusive evidence to whether a luteal phase defect is an actual thing.  There are plenty of things about women who have LONG cycles after stopping the pill, or women who have irregular cycles after stopping the pill, but I didn’t find a single thing on “my body still thinks it needs to bleed on the same schedule as when taking the pill, regardless of when I ovulated.”

The articles that did claim that a LPD was maybe an actual thing were mostly trying to decide if progesterone after ovulation or clomid to induce earliear ovulation was the best way to treat it, with basically inconclusive evidence.

Soooo….I think unless our bodies magically decide to fix themselves, we are basically screwed until you hit the “6 month” or maybe even a year mark of not getting pregnant before a doctor would help you out with any tests or drugs.  Did I ever mention patience is not my strong suit? Ugh.  After this post, I am officially logging out of WB and not returning for a while.  It is just consuming way too much of my attention, and now that I have started back up in medical school, I really need fewer distractions, so good luck to you!  Hope you get KU soon!

@mrsjroo:  I drank decaf green tea pre-O that month but no idea if it was the right timing of months post-BC or the combination, since LP was starting to lengthen anyway the month beforenI was drinking green tea.

Just when you think you know everything…….

I ended up getting a BFP, so I must have had implantation bleeding.  I am praying and praying this is a sticky baby, but I guess I have to eat my words now and say that the people who claim that a short luteal phase probably doesn’t affect your chances of getting pregant too much are probably right. 🙂

Temping does help you figure out what’s going on; I think it’s a bit more reliable than monitoring CM.

I like Raspberry Leaf Tea for helping cycles smooth out; I’ve had some success with Vitex also.  I used to go to an herbalist for a personalized mix but haven’t in over a year now.  I should really think about going back. . . .
