Hi everyone. I’ve been TTC since November, when I went off the pill after about 15 years. So far my cycles have been wild and seemingly not so great for conception, so I think things still haven’t settled down from being on the pill. While I don’t have tons of data yet, one thing that’s been consistent is that I haven’t had a full length luteal phase yet, so I’m wondering if that’s something I can work to improve.
A bit of history:
1st cycle: 51 days, no ovulation detected
2nd cycle: 38 days, ovulation day 28, spotting started 10 DPO
3rd cycle: 33 days, ovulation day 25, spotting started 8 DPO
4th cycle: 14 days, completely messed up hopefully from stress of starting quarantine and not something more serious….
5th cycle: currently on CD 21, no sign of ovulation yet
I had been hoping to go to the doctor soon to talk about my cycles so far but of course I can’t go now, so in the meantime I’m wondering if there’s anything natural I should try. I read that Vitamin C could help with a shortened luteal phase. Does anyone have experience with that or other things I should try?

When does your period proper start?
spotting doesn’t count as the end of your luteral phase and 10 days is considered the lower point of normal. I always spot before my period (while not TTC I like it as it’s a warning to get ready) I had trouble getting pregnant with my first but in every test I had, and every doctor we saw stated that my spotting had nothing to do with me not getting pregnant. As it was I spotted even on the cycles where I was pregnant.
I read up loads about spotting as well and a good book to look at is called the period repair manual. Some great advice in there.

Thanks, I’ll definitely check that book out! I have been getting my period basically after a day of spotting. I’m not sure if it would even qualify as spotting or just like, a light first day of period? But that’s how my app has been counting things so I’ve gone with it.

I had a short luteal phase coming off BC in January and this is the first month I’ve O’d before cycle day 20. I started seed cycling with flax/pumpkin + sesame/sunflower (Look it up for specifics) and taking vitamin C. I O’d on CD 16 and currently 7 dpo, so we’ll see if I make it past 10dpo this month! FX!

A year after coming off the pill my cycles were still long (32-38 days) and my LP was short… spotting at day 6/7 and a typically 8 day LP. I took B6 to lengthen my LP and got pregnant my second cycle taking it. It moved my ovulation up a few days and lengthened my LP to 10+days.

Thanks! Will look into that too. Do you know how much you took? I’m on a prenatal as well but it doesn’t include B6.
