We’re having a somewhat informal wedding in a gorgeous lodge. Because of this, we’ve decided to go minimalistic with the decorations; white tablecloths, burlap runners, and rustic centerpieces. We also have a very small, tight budget ($5,000) so we’re renting the tablecloths from our caterer. Unfortunately, today I discovered that the the tablecloths are short, which means that the ugly banquet table legs are going to be showing, which I hate. Plus they have those ugly tan folding chairs and neither pretty chairs, nor chair covers are in the budget.
I don’t know why it bothers me so much, but I just don’t want to look back on my wedding pictures and see them filled with metal. Did anyone else have to use metal chairs and short tablecloths? How did your pictures turn out?

Our venue comes with table clothes that drop about halfway to the floor – and they’re square tablecoths, and the tables are round. That tought of that seriously bugs me SO much…so I get it.
<br />I ended up waiting for a sale on linentablecloths.com and bought all new, floorlength tablecloths for not too much – I think for our six regular tables and cake table it was maybe $30? I also bought black overlays for them, bringing the total cost to around $60. It was WAY cheaper than renting them – we are renting some “fancy” linens for our cocktail table, but even renting just plain white linens was almost twice as much.
So, while I haven’t been through it, I just avoided it by spending some money. If your budget is too tight, though, then I don’t think it’s that big of a deal and honestly no one will notice. It’s just something that I knew would bother ME. For the record, my mom, dad, and fiance all thought I was ridiculous for caring.

NO one is going to notice that. I had regular table cloth’s and they looked fine.

Search on Craigslist. You can find awesome deals on chair covers there too. Plus, you can turn right back around and re-sell them!

I used beige plastic folding chairs and short tablecloths and it was totally fine! Honestly, I hate long tableclothes because I’m always getting my chair or feet caught in them.
