Are you already pregnant or just planning?  If you’re still in the planning stages there are more reputable companies that offer short term disability like Colonial Life and Aflac.

If you’re already pregnant there are very few reputable companies that will offer short term disability since most require 12 months of payment of the premium before benefits kick in.

I can’t seem to find anything other than direct websites and stock indexes on growingfamilybenefits.com which would lead me to believe they are a scam of some sort.

Quite a few employers so I would check with your employer usually offer Short term for maternity leave.  Mine did and got 60% of my paycheck also

Mutual of Omaha is a reputable compny. You can’t be pregnant when purchasing it, but there are option for a short waiting time ( 3 months and under I believe) Aflac is another good option. I would personally not purchase through that type of company, especially when there are well known and trusted companies that offer STD benefits.
