I am getting ready to send in my final information to my venue. We decided to get married at 7 PM, but can only have the reception until 10:30. Therefore, I am trying to mush everything in as fast as possible. I’ve seen our minister perform a wedding before. It takes ten minutes (no frills), but ours will likely be around fifteen. The restaurant where we’re having our reception is a three minute drive from the hotel where we are getting married. I was planning to have a fruit and cheese display laid out at 7:30 PM and the dinner buffet to open at 8 PM. Is that logical?
After we are pronounced man and wife, we are going to go hide in the hotel so that everyone will just leave and go straight to the reception. I’m gonna get the word out to everyone to just head immediately down there. At 7:45 Fiance and I are going to enter the reception and I will dance with him and my father. After those two dances, I would like to announce dinner immediately.
Do you guys think I should just nix the fruit and cheese display?
Do you think an hour is enough time from start of wedding to start of dinner? Remember, our wedding is late so we’ll have hungry guests!
