I think the tiered skirt would possibly make a short person look shorter, but do you have the chance to try on a similar dress to see what you think of it on you personally? I love the blue color!!

I’m only 5′ and have tried on both these silhouettes.  I didn’t end up getting either, but honestly I found that it’s the bodice that matters more than the skirt?  For the record I LOVED the horsehair skirt.  It’s so fun and different while still being elegant.

I’m the same height as you, and I would definitely go with the A-line skirt. Any design that cuts in the middle of your legs, like the horsehair skirt, will likely make you look shorter.

I’m 5’4 and went with a large puffy A-line. I didn’t think it made me look shorter.

cthebeenyc :  I haven’t picked mine yet, actually.  But I’m leaning pretty hard toward a fit and flare right now.

cthebeenyc :  looove the dusty blue! Whichever you pic it’s going to be gorgeous. I’m also 5’2″ and also contemplating the same two skirts, so I’m no help for suggesting which to go with! Lol

But I believe, and someone please correct me if I’m wrong! But it’s my understanding that having the bodice stop at your natural waist will help elongate the legs, making one appear taller; and if  the bodice ends lower down on the hips it can cut off the legs and make one look shorter.  I could be totally wrong though! Maybe it more depends on body type? I’m more of an ‘athletic’ build with fewer curves, so I know for me I need that waist to hit me AT my natural waist to help give the illusion of having more curves than I actually do. And I’ve noticed that it also helps to give my short legs the appearance of having more length lol

cthebeenyc :  it could for sure be more of a body type thing. Keep us posted with what you go with! And we’ll want to see pics!! 💖

    cthebeenyc :  Thank you.

Ok so that’s a hard decision! They’re both awesome. Im 5’4″ so I think A lone goes best with me fir example but I think the horsehair looks so awesome.

What style skirts do you usually go with (a line mini or a more poofy if you will tulip skirt?)

cthebeenyc :  Firstly, yay, I am so glad there is another blue bride! I voted for the a-line to elongate visually. Both dresses are beauitful. The horsehair skirt probably would make you appear shorter, whereas the a-line will definitely add height. A-lines are complimentary for most, and I recommend them. Can you try on similiar gowns in a store to get a feel for the looks? Either way, let us know what you choose!
