Hi bees, I was originally going to order a Mori Lee dress in the 58 inch option as opposed to the standard 61 inches. The store that I went to buy the dress from had their samples in both. I tried on the 58 inch length and it felt perfect but now I’m looking back at photos and realizing that I think the dress is 3 inches shorter, everywhere. Like proportionally. The bodice seems much shorter and i prefer where the standard one hit my waist. In your experience, was your shorter length dress also shorter in the torso? It’s a hard dress to hem, hence the option to have it shortened by the company, but I think I’d rather wear taller heels and have the dress hit my waist right. Am I imagining things? The first dress with the bigger belt is the standard 61 inches and the skinny belt still in the protective wrapping is the 58 inches…

I think the 58″ looks proportional and flattering. Maybe it’s the angle or the wider belt on the 61inch but they look quite similar to me… That said I always love looking taller so I’d probably wear the heels with the longer dress.

I actually think the second dress looks better on you, but it’s really hard to tell if it’s just the angle of the pics. Either way, that dress looks so beautiful on you!! Great choice!

I think it’s the different belt. I almost bought this dress and would have ordered it in the shorter length because I’m 4’11” and the shop told me it would be expensive to hem because they have to shorten it from the waist.

Seems like you’re imagining things to me! I think the 58 looks perfect and sits right where it should. Maybe you think it looks different because of the angle or the belt? Is the 58 a smaller size?

jachoo146 : If you look at the crease in your arm in both pictures, you can see the length difference in the waist. I think they both look fine though. I think I prefer the fit in the bottom photo but it’s about how you feel and if you feel better in the other one, then get that one!

I think the second looks perfect . I also like the belt way better; those big, dark, thick bling belts do nothing for the airy, floaty dresses.

I agree with the PPs. Second pic , shorter, looks fabulous on you! I think it may just be the angle of the pic that’s causing you to feel like something is off.

nonablu : no both dresses are the same size… just different lengths. I’m going tomorrow to try them on again and will post pictures. Thanks for the reassurance!
